*Someone posts a video of the Legally Blonde musical on my high school's Drama Club Facebook group. His profile picture happens to contain me, in a picture I don't exactly like*
Me: Yay for Legally Blonde, but the fact that I'm in your profile picture really bothers me. I'll all "HELLO EVERYONE I'M WAY TO HAPPY FOR THIS OCCASION"
Him: oh, okie then...
His sister: who gave you the right. <==This made me laugh
Him: Free country <==Also made me LOL
(They delve into a banter about how his sister will tell their parents that he isn't asleep yet, etc, etc...)
Me: I have the right because it bothers me. I didn't say you have to change it, I just said it bothers me. As if you would listen to anything I say in the first place, logical or not.
Me: BTW, free country/freedom of speech apply to my situation too, which is the reason we're not arresting the idiot who made the anti-Muslim documentary on the basis of actually making the documentary.
So, this whole thing really made me laugh, especially about the "who gave you the right" thing. I have the right because for the same reason he can have me in his profile picture. I am clearly the aggressor in this situation, but this reminded me of the LGBTQ issues with the Bible. People have a funny way of only taking into account the rules that make them right. I try never to do that, because it's only fair to follow all the rules at the same time.
This guy had it coming to him anyways. We both used to call each other nicknames in sixth grade, and when he got at me for calling him "Fifi" perpetually, I stopped. He still calls me Randall, so more of taking into account rules that only make you correct. Not to mention, he's a perverted jerk. I love the occasion trolling experience....
