Part One~Part Two~Part Three~Part Four~Part Five~Part 6

In Our Last Episode:

Silvy had to do some thinking and make a huge decision--go for the 'Dex or go for the Badge. After five seconds of soul searching, she decided to get the Dex done first...

December 1, 2012 (Day 56):

Thanks to the fine folks at Pokémon Database, I find the updated Unova Pokédex. It takes some time and a bit of effort, but I'm able to paw through all of my carts, gather the Pokémon that I need and trade them over. At least four of them have to be evolved and retraded but that's no huge deal. It takes time but I'm finally able to say that my Unova Dex is complete. I have everything, save Meloetta but she hasn't been released quite yet. I also realize that this is only a slight reprieve; I'll have to do this all over again to complete the National Dex. Oh well, better enjoy the rest while I can get it.

December 2, 2012 (Day 57):

Since I've completed my Dex, I have no excuse to avoid the last Gym. I put Loki at the head of my party, march in and get ready. I'm pretty sure that this will be an easy battle; Loki's pretty strong for an Electivire and he can handle himself pretty well. But since I don't have a guide, I'm a little unsure how I'm going to solve the Gym puzzle.

It turns out I didn't have to worry about much of anything.

Hopping on board the lily pads and gliding across the water is strangely intuitive; it didn't take me long to cross the entire Gym, beat the rookies and get to Marlon.

Marlon's team is insanely easy: his Carracosta falls in three Brick Breaks (it would have been a one-shot if the turtle hadn't held on and Marlon hadn't used a Hyper Potion), while Wailord is done with one Thunder Punch. The last Pokémon I face is his Jellicent, so I call upon Dogū to make the final kill. And hey, the big guy could use the Special Defense EVs to boot so I figure, why not? One Shadow Punch is all my Dogū needs to get me the last Gym Badge of Unova. I have officially defeated all eight Gym Leaders. Go me!

After I get my Badge from Marlon, I run into Rage Boy. He tells me that normally I should be heading to the Pokémon League but we have to deal with Team Plasma first. I shrug and say whatever, but here comes Marlon. He wants to know what's going on. Rage Boy explains everything and Marlon says that if they're bad, we should defeat them but this doesn't really bother him. Seems Marlon has never heard of Team Plasma and doesn't seem to care. In fact, he bows out and hits the water again. Rage Boy wonders if Marlon's laid back or just plain lazy. Me, I think that Marlon's been too busy drinking the bong water to actually give a crap but whatever. It's time for me to head to Route 22 and beat the living heck out of some Plasma grunts.

Well, I won't be the one issuing the beat-downs. But since Dogū hasn't seen much action lately, I have all ideas that the big fella is itching for a throwdown...
