Down With the Sickness

For the past three days, I've been fighting off a terrible cold. It hasn't been going well. I spent the better part of yesterday sleeping, just as I had Sunday. Thankfully, I managed to wake up before noon today, which is a good sign.
The only really good thing about being sick? Fever-induced dreams. Had an awesome one yesterday, the details are a bit sketchy but here goes:
The sudden jolt of the car hitting a pothole snapped me from my reverie.
"You okay, sis?" Sam Witwicky asked, looking at me with concern.
"Uh, sure. I'm fine, lil bro," I stammered, managing to catch a glimpse of myself in the rear view mirror. I was an average looking 17 year old girl.
Impossible, I thought. I can't have lost 16 years from my life!
"You seem pretty quiet today," Ron Witwicky said. "Still surprised your dear old dad is buying you a car?"
"Considering I wrecked the last one?" I shot back. "Yeah, I am."
"Lucky," mumbled Sam.
"Hey, tell ya what," I said. "How about I throw you a couple of hundred dollars to your car fund? That way, you'll be ready for next year."
Sam grinned "I'm holding you to that." I laughed and gave him a friendly punch to the shoulder. It was then the car slowed. "We're here!" Mr. Witwicky announced.
"Bobby Bolivia's used cars?" I said. "Are you sure these things are safe to drive?" Mr. Witwicky shrugged. "It's all I can afford right now, sweetie," he said softly. "Yeah, yeah," I muttered as I stepped out of the car. It was then I noticed him in all his glory.
"How about this one?" I shouted, racing towards the yellow 1970s Camaro. "I love the color! And check out the racing stripes!"
"A Camaro?" asked Sam. "You sure? Didn't think you liked sports cars."
"Whatever gave you that idea? This one will be perfect," I said as I slid into the seat. It was then I noticed the tiny Autobot sigil resting in the center of his steering wheel. "I know you, brother Autobot," I whispered. "If I were blind, I would still know you." His engine began to rumble softly. It was as if he were purring.
Bobby Bolivia immediately noticed my attachment to the yellow Camaro. Before he could speak, I said calmly, "We'll take it." Mr. Witwicky stared at me in disbelief. "You sure, honey? There are other cars, you know." I shook my head. "I want this one," I said. "I'll even throw in some of my own cash."
Mr. Witwicky sighed. "All right," he said. "You're the boss."
"Hey, what's this funny cube thing back here?" Sam shouted. "I've never seen one of these before." I practically jumped from the driver's seat and raced towards the trunk. My heart was in my throat. Without thinking, I slammed down the trunk, nearly catching Sam's fingers in it. "Hey!" he yelped, glaring at me. "What gives, sis?" I forced a smile. "It's nothing," I said. "It's just part of the LoJack system that hasn't been installed yet. We'll take care of it when we get home."
I was shaking like a leaf. What is Bumblebee doing with the Allspark? Is he hiding it? I thought, my mind a jumble. I managed to slide back into the driver's seat. "It doesn't matter, Bumblebee," I whispered. "No matter what, I'll protect you."
Sam rolled his eyes. "You realize you're talking to a car, right?" I nodded, feeling oddly peaceful. Even the appearance of Megatron wouldn't ruin my mood at that moment.....
It was then I rolled over, whch woke me up. I know I had other dreams throughout yesterday and last night, but that's the only one I can remember clearly. Honestly, I wish I hadn't woken up from it; it'd be interesting to see where everything would have led.
That and not feeling sick was pretty awesome, too. I just wish I could get a little closure to that dream. It probably won't happen though.
