Last night, I spotted a shiny Golgantes, level 57, on the GTS. The asking price was pretty darned reasonable; the Trainer wanted a Froslass. I searched through the offerings and found nothing, so I tossed off a Mew and asked for a trade. But while I had that set up, I figured that I could just go ahead, hatch a female Snorunt, evolve it and take care of everything in one fell swoop.

We'll refer to that as mistake number one.
