So I never IV breed, but since I heard that they made it easier in X and Y, I wanted to see it for myself and maybe try IV breeding this generation. So, I checked the IVs of various Pokemon and I found out that a Japanese Growlithe I got from wonder trade has 5 perfect IVs!!!! 31/x/31/31/31/31!!! And, since I've been Masuda Methoding Vulpixes, I figured why not Masuda Method with a female Timid Vulpix holding an Everstone and my male Japanese 5 IV Growlithe holding a Destiny Knot? So I'm currently Masuda Method breeding and IV breeding at the same time! I'll make a thread and trade them off once I have a good amount.

Here's a tip that'll make things easier, make note of the mom's IVs and swap her out when you hatch a better female Vulpix. Then keep at it, and all your baby vulpix will be nothing short of outstanding!

Otherwise I'd love to see a thread. :)

I second Dolces advice. Keep refining your female and improving upon it.

Also whatever the 5IV male does not have make sure to first breed the female with something which has it. Having a 6IV spread across the 2 parents massively increases the chance of hitting a jackpot totally flawless offspring.

Sure you might not need Satk for your current breed or whatever but having a totally flawless male or female is always brilliant for future breeding.

I love when a pokemon comes up like that. I've bred such a charmander and shieldon (now lv. 100 charizard and bastiodon) and it's a pretty good feeling.

Thanks Dolce and Codface!!! I'm not really trying to breed a perfect 6 IV Pokemon since Growlithe has a 31/x/31/31/31/31 spread and all the Vulpix are Timid nature, so the Attack stat will be decreased anyway. But I did find out that the mother had 0 IVs for Speed, which I thought was quite contradictory for a Timid pokemon, so I switched her out for a Vulpix I bred with 31 Speed IVs because I did get a few with 0 Speed IVs by accident.
