Top 5 Favourite Pokemon Games!

Yup. Top 5. There is one generation I despise SO MUCH.

1. Generation 3!

2. Generation 5!

3. Generation 6!

4. Generation 2!

5. Generation 1!

The one I despise so much is the 4th. Ridiculous level jump between the 4th and 5th gym, Then the 7th and Legendary Battle, Then the Legendary battle to the E4.

Not to mention all the characters felt dull. Cynthia just seemed like a filler champion, Cyrus was a shell of a character, only ever being used as a villan at the conflict point in the game. Other times I honestly thought he was just a rambling character, solely thrown in there to spew sinnohs history. and also, Did I mention the post game? Yet another ridiculous level jump, and the only way to level up is either

A: Grind off grasses and bugs in that route after the e4 for a eternity

b: Grind off the gym leaders in the cafe for eternity.

Gen 3 high five! :> I think my ranking of the games is pretty much the same as yours. Cept I don't have a 3DS so I haven't touched X/Y and therefore cannot judge it.

Yeah Gen 4 felt pretty dull to me as well in comparison to the others.

Gen 4 was the best gen :)

I agree with this 100%. Generation III is my favorite. :3

DP was pretty bad, but I feel like PtHGSS made up for it.

4th gen was pretty dull in some ways but it was the most important. Physical special split Gts and etc.

I don't think you've played Pokemon Platinum, have you @Miidas?

Platinum fixed pretty much all the level problems you talked about. Some gyms were re-arranged, with levels changed. The seventh gym was a few levels higher, and the E4 were a few levels lower. The post-E4 game was greatly expanded with the Battle Frontier, but the level jump here is not fixed well. (Other than that, the rest of the level jumps were fixed.) The E4 could be fought at higher levels later on to help with training. (Also, re-battling gyms is a good thing! I was so annoyed that you can't in BW.)

Then, there's more detail to Team Galactic's plan, the Distortion World (which is awesome), the Three Birds sidequest, Cynthia does more stuff, the three pixies have have more stuff to do, LOOKER (which has been in every generation since), a better post story with Charon and Heatran, a little bit more on Cyrus' goal and his past, MUCH more Pokemon available, and more stuff I can't remember now.

Finally, as @Karis said, HG and SS are ALSO part of Gen IV, and they are another reason why...

The fourth generation is MY favourite generation. (But, Gen 3 comes close as second.)

(I'm not trying to bash you, but the way you described what was wrong with the "fourth gen" didn't take into account Platinum, HG OR SS, especially when they are more canon to the main series in general, as Platinum is canonical over DP, and HGSS over Crystal.)
