Smogon troubles

I've been on bulbagarden for about 6 months now. In that time I've met a lot of people who love pokemon as much as I do. Everyone on here is super nice and usually agreeable. I recently got into iv breeding and full on competitive play. So I decided to join Smogon after all it is my favorite meta game.
So after I joined I read some threads and stuff and worked up the nerve to post something myself. I've been a member for not even two months and it has left a very bad taste in my mouth. The mods and staff are very condescending and rude. When they aren't arguing with you they just outright delete your comments. Don't even get me started on the members. I posted A set I've been using for a pokemon and not even ten minutes later I have five people insulting me and such.
Smogon really seems like a hyper elite snobby group. If anyone agrees or has a similar story comment down below id love to know the general opinion on Smogon. Thanks for reading my first ever blog and sorry for the length.-BAK

I was a Smogonite for quite a while before I left, mostly because someone called me out on being a douche and I realized they were absolutely right. Smogon is the best for competitive battling and I do have a couple of accounts there still that I use from time to time, but Bulbagarden is by far my preferred Pokemon site. I would recommend holding on to your account because like I said, they absolutely are the best when it comes to Pokemon battling and the ideas pitched there and the advice given there will help you improve greatly, regardless of how condescendingly it is given. Just don't let the attitude get to you and don't let it go to your head like I did once you get 'accepted', and you should be fine. :) (Also, many Smogonites are genuinely nice, the douchey ones are just the most vocal. Try skulking around some of the more casual forums, like Wi-Fi and the Orange Islands, a lot of the members there are nicer.)

Sounds good I'm in the same boat. Almost got my team built but not quite. I have a showdown account of the same name were we could battle there some time if you have one.

Thanks for the input man! I think I'll do that.
