That was quite an adventure.

Well, Nationals was fun. I knew I didn't belong there, but I went anyway because I knew I probably wouldn't get another chance. I lost all of my matches the first day but refused to drop the tournament because I didn't want to go all that way for nothing. No, I went to play, and that's what I did. So I stayed another night to do the last two rounds yesterday. The first round yesterday I actually got a bye, since there was an odd number of people in my flight from people dropping and I had the absolute worst score. So I technically had one win because of the bye, but I don't really count it since I didn't earn it. But some of the matches were really close and gave me a really good challenge, and those were the most fun. I knew I didn't stand a chance, I knew I didn't belong there. But I didn't give up and I had fun. And really, isn't that kind of what Pokemon is about in the first place?
I'll shut up about that before I start ranting, I don't want to rant. I really did have fun. My only real complaint is that I missed preregistration (my parents didn't realize Indy was an hour ahead -_-) and so by the time I registered on Friday morning, the only size shirt they had left was small. And I can NOT fit in a small (I would've gone with large if they'd had them, just to be on the safe side). So I have an awesome shirt that I can't even wear to prove I've been to Nationals.
I bought a Leafeon Pokedoll, a Meloetta plush, two Darkrai three-ring binders, a set of card sleeves from the Diamond and Pearl - Great Encounters prerelease with Darkrai on them, an old Growlithe figure, and an unopened box of those Topps cards they put out for the first movie. I was so happy finding the Darkrai binders and sleeves, since I've been looking for the sleeves and one of the binders basically since I started playing the card game. I also got a Mewtwo and Kyurem deck box for a friend, and a small card binder with Snivy, Oshawott, and Tepig on it for another friend.
I'm so exhausted. xD I didn't make it to the elimination rounds yesterday, obviously, so I left after that. We went through Louisville on the way home and I got some awesome Monsters University pins from the Disney Store there. I'm glad I didn't re-organize my pin bags after my sister brought me pins back from her trip to Disney World last month, otherwise I'd have to re-organize them again to include these. They're awesome. I love Disney pins. ^-^
