So is the Wii U worth it?

Anybody?

With the recent price drop and games coming out I've started considering getting one. My only real concern is games I would be missing out on otherwise.

I've generally held the the Wii U is a better system than its sales figures suggest. That being said, the system isn't necessarily for everyone who bought Wii. What games are you interested in?

    @Yoshi1001 ;
Just more mainstream games in general. Nothing really specific. I know the Wii U has more third-party support than people realize but some major franchises are still missing.

Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, and Wind Waker (especially if you never played it on Gamecube), make the system worth it.

Also the internet is pretty good on it. And earthbound, that's gotta be worth something.

The best way to determine if a system is "worth it" is to compile how many titles exist or soon will exist on it that you want to play. If there are, then knock yourself out and buy one, if there isn't, then it isn't worth it to buy it.

    I'm considering it myself.

NSMBU, NSLU, Nintendo Land, Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Wind Waker and the best one that is coming out IMO; Mario Kart 8.

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned: Super Smash Bros. 4. Sure, it's also coming for the 3DS, but Wii U graphics seem far superior in general.

Also, do you own a Wii? As of a system update a month or two ago, you can view Wii games on the GamePad (you can't really play them there-you need a Wii remote/classic/etc. to control the game). Also, if you have to share a TV with other people (or want to watch something else while you play), off-TV play (supported by most games) is a great feature. If you like racing games, I'd recommend picking up the Sonic racing game from last year.

I'm personally waiting for Smash (because I'm figuring that they're gonna have to drop the price some more by then).

I don't want to sound like I'm fanboy baiting or anything (because I'm not into that kinda thing), but the WiiU is getting crushed by the PS4 and the Xbone right now. So unless you have to have it now, I'd wait a little longer because the price will drop again most likely.

Agreed with everyone else that it depends on what games you want.

I personally see too few reasons to get it at this point since many of the games are rehashy sequels to games we played a few years ago.

I have it, and have never put it down except for work. The graphics are amazing even on a non HD TV, especially in Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper.

NSMBU is. 3D World is close. Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8 are shaping up to be. All of the big franchises aren't really doing much new.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'm probably going to wait until Spring to see if there's a price drop or Mario Kart/Smash Bros bundle, whichever comes first.

I wouldn't count on a price drop until the PS4/Xbone drop first (most likely won't happen until at least next Christmas). The Wii U is still $100 below PS4. Bundles for those two games are pretty likely, though. I'd suggest you'd look up some reviews for the games you're interested in, and read them for yourself. I don't think you'll regret purchasing it, but admittedly now may not be the best time.

It's got the same gameplay and a similar setting. The only saving grace for this game is that the levels are more original than usual. Other than that, there's nothing really interesting about the game.

@Ranger Jack Walker ;Last time I checked I wasn't asking for which console is the best thank you very much.
FYI I've already planned on getting one of those later on.
