Mega Blaziken has been confirmed. Then it feels like Mega Swampert and Mega Sceptail will be done too! And why did they choose just these starters? Because they will do a Hoenn remake!
You seem to be assuming that the Hoenn starters will be be the only starters with Mega Evolutions. I seriously doubt that, even without taking into account the rumors about the Kanto starters.
For that matter, letting XY players get a Torchic as soon as they start the game is the hardly best way to hint at remakes. If remakes were being planned, it would make much more sense to keep the Hoenn starters untouched for the time being.
dont count your torchics before they hatch
Well, it would make sense if the final forms of ALL the starters (Gens 1 through 6) had Mega evolutions, not just the Hoenn starters alone (or Kanto either).
Besides, just because we have Mega Blaziken does NOT necissarily mean we will get Hoenn remakes right after X/Y, we may have gotten FR/LG after R/S (with Emerald a year later), but the same didn't happen with HG/SS, which came out after Platinum.
Only the Hoenn starters getting Mega Evolutions would be the most retarded thing in this new generation, but I don't really think that is gonna happen, though. Also, what is a Sceptail
Mega Ampharos confirmed.
Gen II remakes will be made... Oh, wait.
On a serious note, it really cannot be said that Game Freak will remake the Gen III games just because Blaziken is the only fully evolved starter out of any region confirmed to get a Mega Evolution. There's a good chance that almost every fully evolved starter so far, if not all, will Mega Evolve.

True, but in regards to the actual timing, I think RS remakes will come before Z/XY2 because of the timing, we typically get remakes roughly 10 years after the original, and it's been 10 years now.
FireRed and LeafGreen were released in 2004, whereas Red and Green came out in 1996. I may not be the greatest at math, but I'm pretty sure 2004-1996=8. So eight years, not ten.
You also can't extrapolate a pattern from a mere two occurrences. Your sample data isn't large enough.
As much as I'd like to play through an updated Hoenn in GLORIOUS 3D... I'm not seeing it happening in the immediate future. It's entirely possible, but... eh.
omg huern cenfeirmed
I don't see the chances of Hoenn remakes happening yet just because of two Hoenn Pokémon revealed to have mega-evolutions.
It will happen, but not now.
There's also a ton of Easter eggs for Hoenn remakes in the 5th and fourth gen games

Bringing dive back has a HM
Changing the dive ball back to Gen 3 version
Both 8th gym leaders become champion
The first gym you visit in black 2/white 2 is a normal type gym like in gen 3
And the last gym you visit is water in black 2/white 2

Technically, there are three "8th" Gym Leaders (not counting HGSS): Volkner, Drayden, and Iris. Iris is the only one who became Champion.
@MegaLugion; I said roughly 10 years, I know it's a bit off on FRLG, but it's close enough. At any rate, there's other factors in the timing as well, such as the phasing out of compatibility with GBA games (and therefore compatibility with 3rd gen), 6th gen's duration (the 3DS is still fairly new, so they should take their time on 7th gen and let 6th last for around 4-5 years), and the lineup of probable main games this gen (not counting the RS remakes, we're also probably going to see Z/XY2, and it'd be more refreshing if we take a break in between the two). All things considered, the best time to remake RS would be some time in the next year.
@FireBlader15; These are all really subtle things, a lot of them are more coincidence than a sign that they plan on remaking RS.
