Animal Crossing: New Leaf Diary Day 54: Get Outta Town

There are times where where people make mistakes. People fall on hard times and sell themselves short. Despair takes over them. They blame themselves over and over again. They stop believing in themselves. It's a pitiable state.
None of this has much to do with Animal Crossing, but it's somewhat related in a way: After a couple weeks I stopped believing Sydney would leave Tartarus. I was tormented by her entire existence. I convinced myself that Sydney had won the war.
Never stop believing my friends. Your day will surely come.
I made sure not to talk to her until moving day (just in case she changed her mind), where she said her usual cheerful goodbye, not even acknowledging our previous conflicts. I suppose that's fair. It's all in the past anyway.
And then a day later she was merely a memory:
BOSS SYDNEY VANQUISHED
Yesterday I ended things off with the T&T Emporium. It's the final upgrade to the general store, and by far the biggest (obviously):
There's three floors now, with the first floor used for plant and general items.
The second floor has furniture and wallpaper.
And the third floor is where Gracie's fashion store, GracieGrace, resides. She sells furniture, clothes and wallpaper. It's all pretty weird though...
Like this hat for instance.
I think her selection rotates depending on the season, so we're stuck with delicious sweets furniture for the moment.
Wow, I had no idea Drift felt that way. Maybe I should talk to him more. The one thing that irritates me about him though is that he continues to say Bettina's catchphrase: "eekers." *shudders*
This was a little bit before Sydney left, but now we have a bell. I didn't think it would ring if you touched it, but it does.
Another new thing is that villagers can pop in on you even if you're in another floor in your home:
I was rearranging my basement kitchen at the moment. I suppose it would have been polite to run up and greet him, but I was busy! At least they don't stick around either if you don't come and greet them.
Emotion of the Day: Joy
I've wanted this emotion for a long time.
Wait. Where is this going?
What kind of gift was it? And who is "they"? There are too many plotholes in this story!
And just when things couldn't get any better with Sydney, more good news arrives:
POLICE DEPARTMENT YEAAAAAHHHHHHH
The police department is one of the more mind-boggling things the developers came up with. Well, it's not in the facility itself but how you get it. The police department is a facility that's just like the cafe or campsite you build in town. However, instead of having to wait for a certain time or having it available from the start, you are dependent on the villagers to suggest building this project. And it's totally random. And you can only get one project suggestion a day. This is one of those times where I think: "Who thought this was a good idea?
Either way, my Modern Police Station (The Modern Police Station is silver-colored, you can also choose a Classic Police Station that's brown colored and square-shaped.) I'll explain how it works when it's set up.
There was too much good happening in town, so it's only natural that something would come to ruin my day:
Oh no...no no no no no.
I thought I got rid of you.
Luckily she was only visiting and didn't seem to have any interest in moving in again. *Whew*. Crisis averted.
This also reminds me that with Sydney leaving I'm on the hook for the next villager to come and ruin my paths...or orchards...or flowers. Ugh.
That's all for today. Thanks for reading~
I need a pirate ship.
