Animal Crossing: New Leaf Diary Day 24: New 'Do

I should know better than to take petitions with amusing names. Not unlike the deal with Shrunk, Leonardo was walking around today requesting that I help him plan a "Spontaneous Hopping Day." The catch is he wants the signatures to be from another town, Why another town? Wouldn't he want the input of the town he lives in on his idea? That Leonardo...
Phineas is back and town, and today I get TWO badges!
The Fish Maniac badge for a 50% completion on the fish encyclopedia, and the Bronze Medalist badge for earning a lot of medals on the island. That one was unexpected.
But the real development today is the completion of the cafe:
Celebration of the cafe. The dialogue never changes but I still enjoy seeing the celebration every time.
The cafe is open 24 hours, but you can only order coffee once a day. Brewster the pigeon runs the place, and he's a pretty softspoken guy. I can't quite work part-time there yet I guess. I'm assuming that, like with Sable, I have to get to know the guy first. Here's to our first swig of coffee:
Don't flame me, but I don't like coffee. It's always tasted foul to me.
Miranda is there as well and gives us a hint for how she likes her coffee:
The words in blue will be important later when we're working the counter and taking customer's orders later.
The cafe itself is a pretty cozy place, with a nice remix of the cafe from Wild World/City Folk playing inside of it. The part with the table and chairs feels so barren though.
T & T Mart is closed today, so no fortune for today. Also, I was busy all day and didn't get back to the game in time to see Shrunk, so there is no emotion for today either.
But Shampoodle's is ready! A new hairdo at last!
A cheerful Harriet is there to greet me, and explains her services. You can spend 3,000 bells to get new hair, or you can get a makeover. When you choose Makeover, you can use a Mii you have stored on your 3DS on your head. Eh, I tried this once on City Folk. Never again. Your PC looks really odd with a Mii face on.
Anyway, here is the look I chose for today:
And boom, white hair! I wasn't sure about this at first, but the hair actually looks really nice with the fairy tale dress I'm wearing today.
I logged into Arlen's file to change his hair too:
Such a studious look.
The question of whether boys and girls can be friends occupies my villagers' minds. Anchovy was the most recent one to bring it up:
Hmm.... A frog and a rat together... what an odd combination.
Speaking of Bettina, a lot of villagers are mentioning her again as her wish to move spreads throughout town. Some suggest I go talk to her (Nope), others seem more concerned or sad about it. Drift's concerns make sense, but since everyone else is happier gossiping about her, I find it hard to see their concerns as sincere.
We haven't seen Kapp'N in awhile, so here's a strange song he sung today:
I took out my paths that I posted about last time and started laying down the ones I really wanted. Here's how it's going:
With all the trees gone it makes this process easier. Unfortunately, the place I found these patterns from did not have a corner pattern, which can make corners really awkward looking. I may have to go in and make one because I can get really perfectionist when it comes to these things.
Later on in the night both Kicks and Rocket showed up at the cafe:
Rocket comes across as so dumb sometimes that I wonder if she does that on purpose. She's secretly a genius, I know it.
Really...what's the difference between iced and hot coffee? Other than the obvious.
That's all for today. Tomorrow we're gonna shop till we drop at the new supermarket.
Chillin' with my blinged-out furniture.
