Anne Frank the Belieber?

I had to interrupt my Fairy Fails seres for this hilarious news:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22146859

Yep, Justin Bieber has done it. He went to the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam. And guess what he wrote in the guestbook?

"Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a Belieber."

Are you out of your mind, Justin Bieber? That comment was in such poor taste. Sure, it's nice that you took time out of your busy schedule to visit the Anne Frank Museum (it's one of the few places in the Netherlands I want to see), but come on, did you really have to advertise your crappy music!

It was very stupid of Justin Bieber to leave that comment. What's more is that it was outright insulting. I mean, come on, this is a Holocaust-related place! Who in their right mind would promote their music at a place like that? Especially since none of his songs have anything to do with the Holocaust!

Listen here JB: the Anne Frank Museum isn't about you. It's about Anne Frank and the fact that she was risking her life by hiding from Nazis, and that she got caught.

I visited a Holocaust museum yesterday. At least I realize that the Holocaust is not something to joke about. It's just so stupid of Justin Bieber to do what he did in a place related to the Holocaust.

And by the way JB, I don't think that Anne Frank would have been a Belieber. So there!

Agreed a shallow attempt to use history to promote himself. I hope her living relatives sue him for this.

Interestingly enough, Drake Bell(This guy rocks.) trolled his groupies on Twitter. It was hilarious.

I don't have a problem with the guy, but that was childish.

Highly insensitive- this girl was just amazing but what was he thinking? Is he that into himself that he thinks her being a belieber would of meant anything? UGH.

Guys, he's a kid. Of course he's going to make comments that are not "mature" per-say but it's not excuse to hate a person. Like some people say, that's why these people were persecuted back in the Nazi days... because of hatred. Wouldn't that be insulting to the program to hate someone based on a immature comment?

    Plus, it it was as insulting as people made it out to be, the Anne Frank house wouldn't have posted it. ^^;

Very insensitive. He should have at least brought along a ouija board to ask her opinion first.

Certainly it was not the worst thing he could have said. Not even close.

Are you seriously comparing leveling criticism towards a pop star for making a titanically dickish comment to the systematic oppression and abuse suffered by groups such as homosexuals, the mentally disabled, and Jews in Nazi Germany?

He's a kid with his head up his ass. It's become so obvious lately that this was really the only way to outdo his previous dickery. Not surprising in the least.

I do believe that in the days following there was a row over Twitter between Bieber fans and One Direction fans, one group claiming Anne Frank would be a "Belieber" and the other claiming she would have been a "Directioner". You can easily get these people riled up over anything. They're so loyal you could class them as dogs.

The funny thing is, Anne Frank was into celebrities - she loved a lot of the movie stars of her time, such as Deanna Durbin (who passed away last week) and Norma Shearer. She kept many pictures of actors and actresses on her wall. I guess that's no different from a 13-year-old girl today decorating her walls with pictures of Justin Bieber or One Direction. But I still don't think Anne would have liked JB.
