These kids have it too damn easy

I remember back in my day, In the days of RSE and FRLG, to catch the Regis, I had to decipher fucking braille. Now this was before the days of high speed internet, where everything is at your fingertips. Nope, I had to buy a fucking guidebook and use the transliteration to decipher the braille.

I got a piece of paper and painstakingly searched for the corresponding braille symbol before I got my message to catch Wailord and Relicanth. That's not all after that, I had to find the chambers, then decipher more braille to figure out how to open the doors to actually catch the fucking Regis.

Now, in B2W2, everything is given to you. You just walk into the underground ruins. The instructions are in plain English. 9 steps right ? steps down. WTF? What kind of easy ass puzzle is this? Then you just walk up to Regirock. No using flash in the middle. No running around the edge of the chamber.

It doesn't help that when you get the Iron and Ice Key, you don't even have to do a puzzle. Just walk in and catch. ARE YOU SERIOUS, GAME FREAK? NO THINKING!

I remember when you actually had to search for legendaries. Remember how Groundon and Kyogre's chambers moved around the Hoenn map? Remember when you were given no hints as to the whereabouts of the Legendary Birds? Nowadays, they just give you the Swords of Justice in the middle of Routes. Seriously, these kids have no challenge. I hope that X and Y bring back the challenge to Pokemon.

It was in the game manual you know :P

Not that having to find the regis by itself wasn't hard enough. But it was fun having to look for Rayquaza and the regis based on something my friend had heard from his friend. I still ended up having to use the internet for Shedinja, Huntail/Gorebyss and Chimecho though.

Back in my day, nobody in my neighborhood knew how to get Mew in RB. You had to go by word of mouth at school and when you were out and about, it was fun :) I still remember all the rumors kids passed around that weren't true, like how you could catch level 80 Gyarados in a certain spot in the Seafoam Islands and things like that.

@Mijzelffan; I got a second hand Emerald. No game manual there.

I had the internet I just didn't know I could look up how to get any poke. The regis were plain unfair

I noticed that there weren't that many puzzles in the game. It's a real shame too. I'd have liked if they at least put some elite trainers who could really push your limits.

Uhh, I distinctly recall looking up GSC walkthroughs online before RSE came out. You don't need high speed internet to find this kind of stuff, low speed internet will do just fine.

The best one was beat the Elite 4 365 times so the game will register that a year has gone by and the SS Anne will come back, then use strength on that truck by the docks.

I was really pissed off that I spent days learning Braille and I went to Regice's chamber in R/S/E. I was almost done deciphering the puzzle when the door automatically opened.

    @Contrary;

While I did look up a guide for getting in to Regice's chamber, the writer did not elaborate on what to do. So it took a long time for me to figure out how to open it as well. I didn't have any idea on braille, but after leaving the game on for a moment to do something else, I found the door open.

And yeah, I agree that giving the musketeers in the open was just plain disappointing. In BW, you actually had to go and find them, but if they weren't going to do that, then at least make them roam around after the first encounter... ;_; I had actually expected something like that when they appeared in the title sequence because in HGSS (except for Suicune) the legendary beasts roam around as well.

Anyways, the one thing I'm actually having fun is having to search for the Lake Trio. I found Mespirit by looking it up, and a friend told me where to catch Uxie. There's Azelf left to catch... but except for the fact it's at route 23, I don't know where it is XDD I'm having fun searching for the exact tile that'll make him appear, so don't spoil it for me XDD

Meh, I don't mind them making things simpler, really. Going way out of your way to find something is one thing, but then having to solve a crazy-difficult (or otherwise confusing) puzzle on top of that is just ridiculous.

I'm glad the Musketeers didn't roam or live in a dungeon. It was easier to battle and beat them for grinding purposes.

I still remember the rumor about the number of successful launches from the Mossdeep Space Center. If it passed 200, you could go to the moon and catch Jirachi and/or Deoxys.

Back in my day....Pokemon video game battles were REAL battles!!!
Now,these days...Kids hack to get everything and use cheats to make these Pokemon so strong that it's just no point anymore to play the Pokemon video games.
