Unfortunately my niece died today, and by niece I mean my friend's 3DS. We both named our 3DSs and treated them like kids since we both got them back in 2011. Now let me realate what happened.

Today was a normal day at school. Since the semeter is winding down, my friend and I decided to bring our 3DSs to play Pokemon since we were not really doing any work. When we were both free us and this other guy with a DS lite were going to trade, do musicals, etc.

Then I heard a wailing and my friend ran up to me with a frightened expression on his face. His 3DS would not turn on. He said that it worked that morning, so I said maybe the battery is dead. We plugged it in and the charging light came on, but it still would not turn on. Panic sets in. He immediately starts googling solutions and we discover he got "the black screen of death."

To be completely honest, I've never seen him cry before, even when he and his girlfriend broke up. It sucks cause he was an ambassador.

Moral of the story. Never become attatched to inanimate objects. I wish I could take my own advice.

Whenever people make posts with titles and first sentences like that, I think real people have passed away. ._.

    Sorry to hear that.

Has your friend tried to talk to Nintendo.

If they still have their old system as proof they might be able to get the old ambassador games back onto the newer or fixed system at the very least and any other download they did from Nintendo's shop.

I have heard of people doing that with their wii's in the past.

I've never done it personally. However I think from what others have said you need your serial number or something along those lines. Though your friend can look into it.

That scared me for a moment, since I thought it was an actual little kid. My little cousins on my mom's side had a cousin who died young.

Contact the nintendo customer service, from what I've read they're really helpful in this regard.
