A truly delayed update (three days later) for this time, I beat two gym leaders
Elesa's Emolga Twins were a pain in the ass with Volt switch taking about 1/3 of my Andromeda's HP, but she was able to pull through with Rock Tombs. Zebstrika was a little easier to handle with Servine who takes as much damage as Flame Charge as Andromeda takes Volt Switch. These two only won with <25% of their HP, so I'm really proud of them for winning me the Bolt Badge and getting me halfway through this craptacular adventure .
It then proceeded to get my encounter on Route 16, where Haimon's third partner (Goddamit this Throh is going to require heart surgery soon...) Circe (Darumaka) was KIA by one of the Backpackers. She was replaced by Clytemnstra (Sandile) while I caught Telemachus the Sassy Solosis and Mentor the Relaxed Leavanny in Lostlorn Forest.
On Route 5, I had a tough but manageable battle with Cheren using Odysseus and Penelope, met the ever-sensational Alder and battled his Herdier underlings (Why does everyone have Herdier in this game?!), and caught Helen the Jolly... Trubbish. I also caught a Lonely Ducklett named Oedipus after her attacked me for grabbing his feathers.
Clay was at the end of the bridge pissed off at me and Cheren because apparently he can't just leave the bridge down and therefore wouldn't have to worry about losing his captives . I sprinted over to the Cold Storage and retrieved Team Plasma from their hiding spot in a metal crate within a giant refrigerator... Oh, how I love Plasma and their intelligence. After getting my Quiet Mincinno named Aurora, I trained all my pokemon to level 29+ and decided to use Clytemnstra (who was now a strong independent Krokorok) and Haimon for the fight.
Clay was relatively easy as I led with "Clya" against his Krokorok and was hit with Swagger+Torrment. I responded that with Embargo to prevent Clay from using any Potions on the crocodile and a +2 Dig was enough to knock him out. Haimon took care of the next 2 pokemon with a Work Up and Revenge/Storm Throw and got me the Quake Badge. Of course the Tycoon was too "busy" to give me the TM right then so I had to make my way to the Chargestone Cave first.
I caught a wild Quirky Foongus on Route 6 and named it Artemis since I didn't know any other name at the moment and trained my pokemon against Trainers and Audinos. This was all enough to get my pokemon to Level 30+ and evolved both Penelope and Andromeda to their final forms. I finally reached the cave entrance, only to find out that it was being blocked by a web of mustard. Clay came to the rescue by having his Krokorok use Ketch - I mean Cut on the condiment web and endowed the TM for Bulldoze. Now my character stands in front of the cave entrance, mentally preparing himself for
