Well now.
Gen VI.
Missed the initial flare of "OMG GEN VI, 3D CUTE STARTERS AWESOME LEGENDARIES OMG ROLLERSKATES!" posts and blogs. Had to wait until I'd calmed down and could type a coherent sentence.
As most others, I am super duper thrilled that this game is coming out. I love everything about it - the starters, the 3D aspect, the setting, the legendaries. I really don't have a bad thing to say about what we've seen so far.
That said, while I think this game coming out is going to revolutionize the series, I think it also signals the beginning of changes that us, as fans, aren't necessarily going to like.
Reasons being that, while most agree that the battle system needed to be updated, I believe most of these changes are not catering to the fans themselves. It's my opinion that they are trying to expand their fanbase, make themselves more accessible to others who are accustomed to an entirely different kind of game then these have traditionally been. (I'm not going to get into details of why I think this, frankly it's busy at work and I can only multitask so many things at a time.)
And I've never been a huge 3D fan - it gives me headaches - but I hear you can turn it off.
I sincerely hope that I'm wrong, and Generation VI will have the same heart that we have grown to know and love.
Either way, I'm going to play the shit out of this game.
P.S. Yay Fennekin!
