Thoughts on White 2

So yeah, I beat White 2 yesterday, and here are just some of my immediate thoughts. Yes, there are spoilers, I put this in spoiler tags for a reason. :)
Storyline
Eh. It was okay, I guess. What I really really thought was lacking in White 2 that was there in White was buildup of suspense and everything. In White, you met N and Ghetsis from the very beginning and learned about Team Plasma and you actually knew beforehand that N was going to awaken the legendary dragon, which gave you more time to think about it...I feel like in White 2, everything was too sudden, you spent too much of your time battling weak TP grunts and less time getting worried about Unova freezing up and about White Kyurem. For most of the story, I didn't even know what TP was up to, so I felt like I was battling them for no reason. Because quite frankly, I didn't care about Hugh's Purrloin. Like, it was 5 years ago. Get over it already, Hugh. And then, all in a rush, you learned that Colress is the boss of TP but Ghetsis is really the one in charge, and Ghetsis creates and loses White Kyurem in a matter of minutes. That was the actual suspense stuff and it got over so soon. But in White everything was spaced out, so it kept you more interested in the storyline, there was never a point in time in that game where I wasn't curious about what TP was doing. In W2, I forgot about TP a lot. I did like the close-up scenes of Reshiram and Kyurem's battle though.
Okay, more stuff that I liked. Well, I was surprised to hear N in Chargestone Cave, I actually didn't see that coming. Oh, and speaking of N, most of his lines sounded really childish, kind of like a six year old. I mean, I remember him being innocent in White but the stuff he said sounded at least semi-mature. But I liked how he called Ghetsis "Father" in W2, that cracked me up. And something else that I liked was that in White, Ghetsis said something like "We will create a world that I - I mean, Team Plasma - desires" but in W2 he said something like "We will create a world that Team Plasma - no, that I - desire". Um, I liked seeing Anthea and Concordia again. And I liked how the Victory Road badge check gate path was black and white.
Gyms
Cheren: So boring. Lillipup and Patrat? Seriously? Nothing better?
Roxie: Better than Cheren, but not good enough for Magnemite. :) The "P-O-K-E-M..O-N ... Pokemon!" thing DROVE ME CRAZY though.
Burgh: Finally, a gym with a puzzle! I actually really liked the idea of going through cocoon tunnels, it was creative. Magnemite and Dewott cooperated on this one.
Elesa: No puzzle, just a fashion show. She was hard for me though, my newly evolved Magneton pretty much spammed SonicBoom on her since it was the only thing that did decent damage. Dewott did defeat Zebstrika though, I think.
Clay: Ugh, this puzzle drove me nuts! I spent forever trying to find the right conveyor-belt thing, I literally had stepped on every single platform by the time I was done. I kept Magneton away from this gym, Samurott swept it.
Skyla: I liked the idea of this puzzle too, it wasn't actually a puzzle though, just a test of how fast you could run pretty much. Magnezone decimated her team.
Drayden: He was hard for me, since none of Samurott's moves were very effective. I had Magnezone spam Discharge and Flash Cannon. I liked the statues of the dragons. I had to defeat all of the trainers here to actually beat him.
Marlon: Humilau City has HORRIBLE MUSIC!!! Ugh, that tune bugged me so much, and that annoying percussion sound... Okay, maybe it's just me. Magnezone swept this with Discharge.
Overall, not a bad set of gyms, I guess. I feel the gym puzzles have gotten easier as generations go by. I remember some of the RSE puzzles being pretty hard, but none of these were really all that challenging. [s]Perhaps it's because kids nowadays have lower attention spans[/s].
Elite 4
Shauntal: I battled her first. Her first few Pokemon were easy, but Chandelure... I was not expecting it to know Energy Ball. I had to revive Samurott and send it back out for that.
Grimsley: Piece of cake. I used Magnezone mainly, but switched to Samurott when he sent out Krookodile.
Marshall: Samurott's Surf was getting low on PP, so I did Marshall first because I could always use Magnezone on Caitlin, but I didn't want to send it out against Fighting types. He was pretty easy, I used Surf and Waterfall on everything.
Caitlin: Not too bad. Her Reuniclus surprised me by knowing both Energy Ball and Focus Blast, but I revived Magnezone and sent it back out and I did okay.
I liked the new "rooms" that the E4 were in, they looked pretty. Especially Caitlin's, of course. :)
Iris: I guess her Pokemon were okay (I spammed Ice Beam on them all, including her underleveled Hydreigon) but I hated her theme music. It sounded too triumphant and didn't have any of the suspense of a Champion battle. It sounded like I had won already, kind of. But I thought the light-things streaking across the battlefield were pretty cool, even if I didn't know what they were. :)
Credits screen!
I really liked this. I liked how they showed pictures of each city, and the gym leaders, they really captured the moment well. I would actually beat the E4 again just to watch that one more time. :)
Kudos to anyone who read those long rants. :sweatlol:
