We had an egg drop project in physics, where we were split into partners and given a raw egg, and we had to make a contraption that would allow the egg to survive uncracked if our teacher dropped it from the ceiling of the classroom (about 3 meters). It had to be less than 1 foot by 1 foot, and it had to weigh less than a pound. The people whose eggs survived the 3m drop went outside to the second floor of the building, where our teacher threw the contraptions off the roof (about 7m) and the people who survived that got to put their device in a small cardboard box, and our teacher threw a 10 pound bowling ball at it to see if the egg still remained uncracked. We had about two weeks to work with our partners on the project (outside of class, we weren't given class time).
We tested them in school today. It was quite fun. Let's just say that there was splattered egg everywhere, since our teacher was ruthless with that bowling ball. XD Although there was one group that survived the bowling ball, they put the egg inside a plastic water bottle and put more plastic bottles around it, and used a lot of sponges and towels and things like that.
So yeah, my day was actually pretty good, despite the rain. :)
