I have a question about Legal Procedures in the Court Room!!

I need many people well versed in Law and Legal Procedures to answer this question below
If a Jury decided a not-guilty verdict in a criminal case such as murder, can a Judge overturn that jury verdict and claim the defendant guilty?
I think that a judge can not overturn that and I did my research on that matter and from what I have read on ask.yahoo and other forums and websites, A judge can overturn a guilty verdict if there is a lack of evidence that would suggest otherwise. However, I am not by any means a legal expert and from what I have read and researched still makes my knowledge of the subject inconclusive. So anyone here who has a degree in Law or Legal Procedure and whatnot, I need your input and/or opinion on this matter.
Any other people who are a least well informed about the this subject, but those who are specializing and/or have a degree in Law and Court/Legal Procedures will have their input weighed more heavily.
Thanks in advance, Five-Gate Omega
