Zayn Malik Does Not Represent Me

I'm sure all of you are aware that I'm Muslim. And as you all know, One Direction is popular. And it's pretty obvious which member I will talk about.

I've had some issues with Zayn Malik lately. He's my least favorite member of One Direction. And I think it's for a good reason. He actually makes Muslims look worse.

I thought I'd have a lot of respect for Zayn since I thought it was wonderful that you got to see a Muslim in the music industry. I thought it was refreshing after hearing about all these young, pretentious singers who belong to purity ring churches. It was also nice that he was getting along with several non-Muslim guys.

And yet now I think that Zayn Malik sucks. I noticed after he got popular some girls thought it was cool that I'm Muslim. I was flattered, but then I realised that it was because of Zayn Malik. I can't stand that little twat for a variety of reasons.

First is the fact that I heard he's such a diva, probably almost as prissy as Justin Bieber. He got booted off a radio show for banning questions. He's also a bully. He made fun of Tom Parker. He also called another singer "chlamydia boy". That's really rude and disgusting, and it was actually a singer who my brother is a fan of. I'm sure Zayn and Perrie (why does she have a boys' name?) were doing it in bed anyway. Which brings me to my next point...

Zayn also cheats on girls. This is one of the few problems I have with him on religious grounds, as that is a huge sin in Islam, for both sexes. My mother's sister did not put up with her cheating husband. I'm also kinda disturbed by the amount of tattoos that he has. I do know Muslims with tattoos (two of my cousins have them), but mostly they have only one or two. Zayn has like 10! The tattoo taboo (lol) is not confined to Islam. Many Jews are opposed to tattoos as well. You might consider this hypocritical because I show quite a bit of skin, but that's not as bad as cheating on a girl. It's ironic that Debbie Schlussel accused Zayn of pimping Islam, when in fact he alienates both conservative Muslims and liberal Muslims.

This little prick does not represent Muslims at all. I don't see anything wrong with being a celebrity, but I do with people who buy into the stereotypical celebrity lifestyle. It's even more insulting because many British Muslims live below the poverty line. Plenty of them want their sons to get good jobs instead of just being cab drivers. Honestly, Zayn could potentially make relations between white Britons and Muslims even worse.

It's not like he's the only Muslim singer - go to any Arab country, Pakistan, Indonesia, or other Muslim countries and most of the singers will be Muslim. Not all of us believe that music is against Islam. But many of them don't sing in English, which might be a turn-off to English speakers.

I realised that just because you have something in common with a famous person, doesn't mean you're going to like them. If you remember my Haifa Wehbe rant from last year, you'll understand. Honestly, I'll think it's better if Zayn Malik ever decides to become Christian or atheist. We don't need him.

All I can say to Zayn: Get a f*cking reality check.

Haha I totally understand this. I get like this when ever a Scottish actor or comedian or whatever makes a stupid point in the media. I feel a bit embarrassed that a share nationality with someone who is sexist/racist/etc.

I think everyone is like that, just because we have some similarities, it doesn't mean we're gonna agree with them or see them as representative of our culture.
