My sister called last night. She had some good news to tell me.

Wanna guess what it is? Well I'll tell you!

She went to the doctor yesterday, and it turns out that she is two months pregnant. She and her husband are expecting their first child. I'm honestly surprised, since it seems like only yesterday she got married. (Well, it was three months, but still...)

They don't know whether they are having a boy or a girl, but they said it doesn't matter - it's still a child.

My maternal grandmother is going to find out soon. She's definitely going to be excited - she just had two great-grandchildren and this is going to be her third. My paternal grandparents know already. She told them when she saw them at McDonald's. (They go there a lot.)

I'm excited for her too. I'm going to be an uncle for the first time. It makes me really happy.

Was on, saw this and couldn't help but post, since I related so much.
Congratulations on the good news! I bet she's excited, and I wish her well.
I was over 3 months pregnant when I had a miscarriage, and that was our first child. Apparently it's pretty common for the first to be a miscarriage ._. (Even my obi told me her first was a miscarriage.)
And I tell you what, it's an awful experience. Something you can't comprehend unless you go through it.
She better start taking her prenatals and lay off of everything that could cause problems, including too much caffeine and obviously no alcohol or smoking. And now's not the time to get risky with heavy physical activity, either.
Wish you guys well and the sound of little feet :3

Your sister's child is very lucky to still have so many great-grandparents alive too!

You're right. I wish I got to know my great-grandparents - my last surviving one, my grandpa's mum, died when my older sister was a baby.

My brother-in-law's paternal grandmother is still alive too. Sadly, his maternal grandmother died of breast cancer a month ago. She was 78. It's a shame - the kid almost got to have all four great-grandmothers. (His grandfathers both died years ago.)

One of the names they are considering for the child is Isra, the name of my brother-in-law's deceased grandmother.
