Zaki's Humble Abode

I got my computer back today. While I was on FF.net, I was looking at some fanfics related to my favourite Pokemon character, Morty. I liked most of them - the most recent was a rather funny one about Morty having a bit of a spat with Norman at a swimming pool. But there was one that really got me riled up. Read it if you dare:

This fanfic is the biggest piece of SHIT that I have ever read. I was so mad I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs and smash the computer screen. I even threw the doll I made of Morty at the screen.

Want to know the problem? The fanfic portrays Morty as a rapist! In it, he is a bully who bosses around the other Gym Leaders and threatens to take away Jasmine's virginity and concocts a sinister plan to do it. In short, the fanfic is a total insult. If anything, Morty's character was the one that was raped. The games NEVER portray Morty like that. If anything, Morty's friend Eusine would be more likely to do that, and even he is above that! After all, Morty is the one who keeps him in check.

I sent an angry review to the fanfic. What I didn't send was a desire to beat the writer's brains out.

How could someone do that to Morty? I can understand a lot of other characters, but MORTY? What does he do that is remotely bad? At least in the one Morty has a problem with Norman, even though Norman is a bit of a jerk, he's not a rapist!

I told my mum that I was livid about it. She told me that I shouldn't worry about it, since Morty is just a fictional character. She told me I was panicking about nothing. But I am panicking for a reason. Some idiot fangirl just took a dump on my favourite Pokemon character!

Anyone else feel this angry when their favourite Pokemon character is dehumanised?
