I've finally seen a full episode of the Ultimate Spiderman animated series and I don't see a thing wrong with it. Really why is everybody hating on this? Is it because they're jealous that they don't have the talent to do this or is it because Peter Parker/Spiderman breaks the fourth wall from time to time? Because if he didn't try and add humor to it then, it wouldn't be Spiderman. But other than that I think the series is awesome :D

    Um no

Personally I'm disappointed because it had all this potential but decided to become similar to Family Guy.

I like it because Venom's character was finally done right in this series and really Peter breaking the fourth wall and these cutaways also adds humor which makes it feel like i'm actually watching a really good Spiderman series :) ......that's my opinion :)

People hate on it? I personaly see it as the only good thing Marvel have done since their last good series, Spectacular Spiderman.

I don't hate this show, when it was first announced, I was excited to hear about it, only to be disappointed in it when it premiered, but I DON'T hate it, it's just FAR from my original expectations, that's all.

There are many reasons why this show is hated a lot (and I could go on forever thinking of reasons why people hate this show), one being that they rely too much on the humor with Family Guy-esque cutaway gags that don't contribute much to the plot at all, rather than the plot itself. Another reason a lot of people hate it is because they don't like Drake Bell's voice as Spidey, and prefer Josh Keaton from Spectacular Spider-Man, and then there's the hatred of Jeff Loeb, most fans are simply too wrapped up in their hate for Jeff Loeb and "Loeb ruins all he touches," and their belief that this series destroyed Spectacular Spider-Man (and caused the cancellation of Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes), while it's true that Spectacular had it's flaws, Ultimate is more flawed.

I actually like a few aspects of this series though, for example Spidey teaming up with SHIELD, so that’s a cool idea, and we get to see the Iron Spidey suit, and many people liked that suit, the animation is also pretty good in my opinion, though there are a couple moments where the animators clearly didn't care, and the animation drops to unfortunately low frame rates, but it’s rare.

In my opinion, any positive aspects of the show are heavily overshadowed by all the unnecessary nonsense, it’s a decent show wrapped in layers and layers of crap, but if you dig through all the crap, you'll find, somewhere in there, a Spider-Man show. I tried SO hard to like the show, but after about 8 episodes in, I just gave up on it. It's like Teen Titans, but done really wrong and more over-the-top. I wish they will one day be able to do an animated show for Spider-Man where the story takes it's time to develop things more, and introduce things properly. It's a wonder why a lot of people like Young Justice (including me), because it focuses more on story and characterization than on ridiculous nonsense.

What's really depressing is that there was an arguably perfectly good Spider-Man show already on the air, being Spectacular, and it was cancelled for the sake of Ultimate Spider-Man. It's particularly annoying because Spectacular ended on a pretty significant cliffhanger, and all of those characters and plot threads were just abandoned for nothing.

In general, USM isn't a particularly bad show in my opinion, but it could have been done a lot better.

The show isn't that bad, it's just being poisoned by the unnecessary manatee jokes and Spider-Man constantly breaking the fourth wall (that's Deadpool's job!). There's also the fact that they ditch the love relationship between Peter and Mary Jane from the premiere episode simply because of the show's target demographic. The only positive things about it are the story, the guest appearances of other Marvel Superheroes, Deadpool cameos, and the inclusion of the villains from Sam Reimi's films (though I do wish for other Spider-Man villains such as the Vulture and Electro to appear).
