That's it. I give up on trying to teach my friends and family how to pronounce "Pokémon" properly. It's not "POH-KE-MON", "POOKEEMON" or "POKEY-MAN". It's "Poh-kay-mon". Accented e, please. Gah.

I pronounce it pokey-mon, because POH-KAY-MON makes me think of Bill Cosby.
I pronounce it as Po-kee-mon.
Whoa, Dragonfyre used Mind Reader! Seriously, I was actually thinking of posting a blog entry on this EXACT topic. I use the é online, and in speech, and even try to correct people who say Po-keh-mon or Po-kee-mon.
tbh no one really says po-kay-mon lol. its always po-key-mon.

As in, "caf-ay" (café) and "soof-lay" (soufflé). The same way, it's probably "poe-kay-mon". And, IMO, it sounds better than "po-key-mon". That one just makes me think of "Pokey Monsters", which might be either monsters who do the Hokey Pokey, or monsters who like poking things. I dunno where my brain got that from. I really should stop obsessing over the accented e.... But eh. To each his own, I guess. Originally Posted by User_Name Whoa, Dragonfyre used Mind Reader!
