Like you care.

In the next few blog entries, I will be covering my time at the PWC2012....which happened nearly 2 months ago. (August 10-12)I was going to do this in September...
but I procrastinate too much.
I want to write down all the details before I start to forget.

Anyways....BEGIN!

I probably had one of the worst night of sleep in my life. I woke every 45 minutes, 'cause I was SO. F*CKING. EXCIIIITTTEEEED!!! Why wouldn't I be, I was going to the 2012 Pokemon World Championships with my friend and her brother, and I'm skipping school! I kept sleeping and waking up until I woke at an acceptable time. 5:30 am? Perfect. Even though I didn't have that much sleep, I was wide awake and movin around, gettin' in my epic Togekiss cosplay(see spoiler tags at the bottom of the page), making sure my 3DS was all charged up, (impatiently) waiting for everyone else to get up. I knew that this was going to be one of the greatest f*cking days of my comparatively short life.
And it was.
So I'm just going to skip the rest of the morning of when I get ready and teleport straight to the Hilton Waikaloa Hotel.

The first sign of awesome: Right in front of the lobby, there was a tall sign that was welcoming people to the PWC2012 in a bunch of different languages.

yes...yes...YES!!! I'M WHERE I BELONG WITH MAH FELLOW POKEMON NERDS!!
Hundreds of Pokemon fans have gathered here in this pool if sheer awesome.
As I walk along, I catch glimpses of people taking pictures of my epic cosplay. And this cute Japanese lady (who didn't speak too much english) asked to take a picture of me...I think Togekiss was her favorite Pokemon, as she had this ADORABLE Togekiss plush! \^3^/
And this guy who was in line for signing up made a comment on my cosplay, and he had a Togekiss plush identical to mine :3 .
(my friends were counting how many people were taking pictures of me. by the end of the day we reached 11 and kinda gave up....)
And I swear, within 5 minutes I had gotten 20 streetpass tags, with more on the way. My friend was jellyXD; she forgot to bring her 3DS.
Although, there was one thing I was looking for when I got there.
A good battle. I mean come on, every other person had a 3DS!
But if you know me irl, I'm not the type that approaches people, and I'm very shy.
I looked around, and I finally mustered up the courage to talk to someone.
me:excuse me, would you like to battle :)
other person:*starts talking in German*
And I awkwardly walked away....
Then the Pokemon media people came up to me and asked some questions like my name, where I was from, and if I was or wasn't competeing (I said I might but I'm not sure).
And then They took a picture and said they wanted me to be in the opening ceremonies video that they would have on 3 giant screens in the ballroom tomorrow.
Then they told me to slowly look up with a determined and competitive look :3. And the whole time I was thinking :f*ckyeah!:.
I'll tell about the previoulsy mentioned opening cermonies tomorrow and stuff.
I walked around and FINALLY asked for a battle, and this other person accepted :3! And I won!
So he asked if I was going to compete. I wasn't really sure, and he told me that the sign up for last chance qualifiers was in a few hours. I said I hopefully would... but I didn't think I would have a chance, or how to sign up. later on I asked one of the people there...I'm getting sidetracked.
Anyways, I had 3 battles, I won 2 and lost one battle(but it was REALLY close).
So a bunch of things that weren't as interesting happened, During this time, I learned all about the last chance qualifiers, and that I could sign up if I wanted to. Now I will be skipping to a few hours later, When I'm in line for the senior division last chance qualifiers.
Holy sh*t I was so nervous and excited. Not long after I got in line, 3 guys started skipping down the hallway where the line was, arms linked, singing.
♫Da da dun dun dun, da da dun dun dun, da da dun dun daa da daa...♪
Yes. They were singing the route 1 song from R/B/G/Y.
So random, yet so awesome. and I started singing along too, but I didn't join them and start skipping.
Still waiting in line, I decide to have a battle. I go into the union room, and there are about 8-10 people in there. half of them were spamming the bottom message thing with the following message:
Behold my TEST TICKLE !
That made me lol pretty hard. Then I saved it so I wouldn't forget it.
Then there was this girl in front of me in line who looked around my age, and then just decided to ask her for a battle. I asked for her name, but for privacy purposes, I'm not going to say it. She was my age, and she was from California. While we were battling, one of the volunteers was passing around some paper to put down some info on and said to put our Pokemon in the battle box. I asked this person I just met (now going to be referred to as _____) about how to use the battle box. so we left the battle and I put my team in the battle box. I remember making that difficult decision of which Togekiss to use, the Championships didn't allow duplicate Pokemon....Hypotenuse or Cirrus....I decided to use Hypotenuse. So me and _____ resumed to our battle, and the line was now moving quickly, and our battle was interrupted again. This time, we needed to have our teams checked for illegal moves. There was a lady standing in front of the doors to the ballroom, who would take the Pokemon BW cartridge, check it on the DSi, go through the team, and see if your'e legal. After that, I went into the ballroom (where the battles were held), with a stomach full of Beauitfly.
Then the lady that just checked my White game asked to take a picture with me because Togepi was her favorite Pokemon, and she loved it's evolution line. XD what's with all the Togekiss lovers here....
So after going through all that....I'm registered.... but the battles don't start for a while. I was nervous as hell. This dream I had for 6 years,that I thought would never happen,is now closer than ever. That dream was to get into a Pokemon world championships. I didn't expect to get past the first round XD.
After a seemingly eternal wait, talking to _____, wishing each other good luck and stuff, the sign was up, showing the pairings. I wish it showed the pairings like in the anime, but it was just some green copy paper lol.
I was at table....4 I think. So after more waiting, let the qualifiers....begin!
The battles were held via IR, 2-3. My first opponent was a guy who looked to be around 15. He was from Italy. After beating his team, he walked away sadly. Apparently he didn't know the matches were 2-3 and they had to get a translator for him.
I had won the second battle against him, moving me on to the second round. And _____ made it past the first round too! Yay!
Second round....begin!
I was up against this guy from California, who also looked to be around 15. I lost the first battle against him and his OU rain dance team with a Thundurus, Politoed, Kingdra, and Hitmontop.
And then I lost the second battle. Had I won against him twice, I would've made it into the championships. Therefore, I render that last battle against him, the most important battle of my life.
I was too shocked and sad to speak. He said that he was really sorry about that. I quietly said "it's fine" and walked back to my mom and my friends, disappointed. _____ didn't make it past the second round either.
And then we went home and said we would see _____ tomorrow.
