So I was on the bus and this asshole sitting next to me starts telling me about how he thinks gay people are "disgusting and don't deserve marriage rights"

I cut him off and tell him that he is acting like an asshole. The guy shoots his mouth off about me being a "queer, just like So-and-so". My heterosexuality being challenged is, quite frankly, something I have had enough of. I am this close to punching him in the face when I arrive at my stop.

That's great. Because you have to be gay to understand that gay people deserve respect too, right?

Atleast there are those who stand up and defend when people run off their pathetic judgmental mouths as he did.

    I applaud you.

Respect is something you earn, not get granted, especially not for proclaiming the whole world that you're gay (and etc.). The man might have offended you, but you didn't do anything to change his view.

Yeah, it's completely rational to expect a stranger on a bus to radically change your views!

    ...Wait a minute.

And why shouldn't gay people get granted the right to not be seen as unnatural freaks?

I always think that openly Homosexual people are badass because they don't feel ashamed about it, and you sir, are also badass for standing up for them.

Dude I have no problem with you, but there is a difference between "respect" and what I quoted from you. Respect is a high regard. High enough so that someone will leave you alone and won't judge you so much, but everyone is always judged by others, more or less. If you run into people and tell them "f*ck you all, I am gay" then how do you expect them to portray gay mindset. Next time either ignore the person or talk to them but be friendly and show them your good side.

I feel like you've missed the point somewhat.

I'm fairly sure the last sentence of this blog was meant to be sarcastic. Perhaps you should re-read it with that in mind.

Yeah, I'm kinda lol'ing at how many people missed this line:

My heterosexuality being challenged is, quite frankly, something I have had enough of.
Nothing wrong with straight people standing up for others. Nothing wrong with that at all.
