Anyone else get a weird bug?

I finished X and Y some time ago and I had a lot of fun. Just one thing I noticed.

My Gengar got a super effective on Wikstrom's Aegislash when it used Shadow Ball. Did this happen to anyone else or is it just my copy? I remember people catching Nidokings back in D/P/Pt, and the Santalune City save error is reason enough for me to believe that X/Y might be bugged.

It's not a bug. Steel no longer resists Ghost and Dark.

Do you know that the type chart was changed so that Steel isn't resistant to Ghost or Dark anymore?

Aegislash being weak to Shadow Ball is not a bug (at least in this generation it's not) : the Steel-type no longer have a resistance against both Dark & Ghost-type attacks, so that's why you managed to kill the Aegislash in one hit.

Steel types have lost their resistance to Ghost and Dark types in the 6th generation, so a Steel/Ghost type Pokémon like Aegislash is weak to a Ghost type attacks like Shadow Ball as well as Dark type attacks.

Well, Steel no longer resists Ghost and Dark now, so a Ghost move will do supereffective damage to Aegislash. So it's not a bug.

No, it's not a bug; it's the new type chart. Steel no longer resists Ghost and Dark.

What's not good about the loss of resistance?

    Thanks for reading.

Tell that to Metagross, Jirachi, and Bronzong. They got hit HARD by the Steel nerf.

PRECISELY what I mean. The type matchup system is a very delicate system of checks and balances. If you change one variable, EVERYTHING's sure to come crashing down. Eventually, new Pokemon (i.e Gengar) will find a foothold, which would result in the metagame being skewed in their favor. You aren't really balancing the game, you're just changing the winners!
