So, I was just curious..is Missingno counted as a pokemon? I mean, I do but I really can't say if it's official or not. There could be 152 pokemanz! :o

Darkrai wasn't the product of a glitch; it was straight-up programmed into the game. The only thing the glitch produced was a way to get to Darkrai without an external cheating device.

But yeah, Missingno. isn't officially considered a Pokémon. Definitely not refuting that point.

Technically Missingno. was also straight-up programmed into the game as a placeholder for unused index numbers.

As a side note, I was looking at the pokemon lists by index number for each generation, and it seems they mostly solved the problem of glitch pokemon from unused index numbers by gen 3 except they left 000 unused, so that supposedly still creates a glitch pokemon even in gen 5. So why don't they just start indexing pokemon at 000 instead of 001?

I probably should have worded myself better. I meant that Darkrai could be obtained through a glitch, even though it wasn't meant to. Similarly, MISSINGNO. was never supposed to be accessible, but unlike Darkrai, it never got an official release.

First of all, its presence changes other parts of the game (player inventory and hall of fame). No legitimate pokemon changes the game in such a way.
But there are official Pokémon that alter parts of the game too. Specifically, I'm thinking of event Pokémon like the Hall Of Origin Arceus (which can only obtained by hacking, just like Missingno.), which allows access to the Sinjoh Ruins, just like the event Arceus made for it. There's also the Regis, who are necessary to unlock Regigas in Platinum, and Relicanth/Wailord, which together unlock the Regis in RSE. So a Pokémon affecting parts of the game that it's present in isn't anything new.

My second point will be index numbers. In addition to a pokedex number, each pokemon was assigned an index number. In every other gen the index number matched up with the pokemon's dex number, but in gen 1 it did not. As you know, in order to summon a Missingno., you need to force the game to encounter a pokemon with an undefined index number. Therefore, unlike every other pokemon that only has one index number, Missingno. has multiple.
But that's not true. Pokémon with multiple forms do have multiple index numbers, so Missingno. is no less a proper Pokémon than Wormadam or Unown, in this regard.

Here is my third and final point, and this point literally makes all other points obsolete. Game Freak says that it's not a pokemon, and whatever Game Freak says, goes. If Game Freak says it's not a pokemon, then it's not a pokemon, end of story.
Sorry, but I disagree with that notion entirely. You can believe that if you want, but I prefer substance over style. Missingno. has all the hallmarks of a Pokémon, so I don't see any reason not to count it as one. True, that doesn't give it official recognition (hence it's not an official Pokémon)--that would require GF's confirmation, since they are the officials. But I still count it as a Pokémon, just like we would if they retconned all the current Pokémon out of existence, and would refer to it as one. Missingno. and all other Glitch Pokémon are Pokémon in every way but their title.
