I hate bicycle chains

Yeah. I now really hate them because I spent the last 20 minutes trying to get them to cooperate. So here's the story:
I riding my bike around my neighborhood, and after about 20 minutes of doing that I decided to try Gear 1, which I haven't done in years. As soon as I adjusted the gears, THE FREAKING CHAIN FELL INTO THE SPACE IN BETWEEN THE WHEEL AND THE GEAR AREA. So I tried and carried my bike home, which I stopped doing after about 15 feet because it has killing my hands and shoulder. At this point, my house was about 1 mile away, so I tried pedaling on the bike. THEN THE OTHER FREAKING PART OF THE CHAIN FELL OFF THE THING ON MY BIKE THEY CALL THE "Pro Wheel" (The circular thing that's connected to your pedals.) After this, I was just like, screw this, and pushed the bike the rest of the mile home. It took 2 times the strength to push it home, because for half a mile the chain was rubbing against the tire. And mind you, our street is HILLY. After I got to the garage of what seemed like 20 minutes later, I started trying fix the chain. This took another 20 minutes, and after that, the freaking chain finally decided that in would go in place.
I swear I will never try to change into 1st gear again.
On another note, I'll probably be going to Buffalo, NY tommorow.(^O^☆♪
