Never tell anyone that you're 14 or under, because everyone will assume that you're an immature dumbass who doesn't know anything because of your age -_-

I won't lie, this is why when I joined I didn't put down my real birth date (I should probably get that fixed...)

Don't let it get to you though.

People have different taste. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean anything. Its just means you don't like that type of game.

If I came of as that, I am sorry.

I didn't assume anything, but the fact you were born in 2000 means you were not born when platform games started to shine. Back in 1995, when I started playing video games, people used to worship games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Crash Bandicoot, Mega Man, etc.

I should mention that the same is valid for me. I was born in 1990, so I obviously wasn't around when Pitfall and other archaic Atari games like it were released, so I don't know why 30 years old people love those games so much. Also, as Booster Gold said, people have different taste and that is completely fine.

Well I find Mario fun even though it's hard as hell.

Oh, well, I am 16, and I can say that this place has not treated me as an "immature dumbass" as much as I initally thought.
Especially when the topic is gaming, you should not let it affect you, every age had its own things. You are not supposed to know it all. They are not supposed to bug you about it. If not for the apologizing, you should have just gone on.

Truth is, hiding it at first really helps out, but that does not mean that the others should treat you as such no matter what you say or do.

What bonds people from 12 to 35 in this site is that all of us interacted with Pokemon, at its early days or later on. This game is something we all experienced, and the fact we all like it means that we have similar tastes in gaming, even though each one's childhood may have been different.

Just to conclude here, you should not worry much about these things. Enjoy the games, this place, and get ready for teenager life!

EDIT: Read the older blogs and realized what exactly it is about. And know what. I HATE MARIO AS WELL!
Seriously, I do. And I don't think it really has to do with age, I got some GBA games with him.

But you should still try a 3D Mario game. I think they have a way better difficulty curve even though they get really hard later, your goal is more real, and (come at me, bro) they're more fun.

And I'd also recommend the RPGs, Super Mario RPG, the Paper Mario games (but maybe not Super Paper Mario. I found it a really good game, but it's a bit platform-y as well so you might not like it. It's easier though, since points level you up, so you have more health and can do more damage.), and the Mario and Luigi games.

If it makes you feel any better, I was born in 1995 and dislike Mario games, whereas my brother who was born in 1999, loves Mario games. Age doesn't mean anything.
