So I started wondertrading and such, and after giving someone an Axew, I got a Dratini in return. When I looked at it, it was level 1 and all of it's stats were at 6.

Now, from seeing all of these posts on reddit about perfect IV's, I've noticed that all of their pokemon that had perfect IV's were all level 1 with all of their stats at 6.

So, did I get a perfect IV Dratini or something? Also, can I just get a simple explanation of IVs?

Not sure if it's a perfect Dratini, because obviously all Pokémon have different base stats, but you can check by asking the IV Checker in the Kiloude City Pokémon Center.

I'll try to give a description, but I'm really bad at describing them so I apologize for this horrible discritoption. They're basically like mini-stats, where they just determine what stat is better and what one is not. As far as I know, they don't really affect the stats too much, but they can make the difference between a 2HKO and a 1HKO.

Go to the Poke Center in Kiloude City. Inside to the left there's a man. Show him your Dratini. If he says it has 'outstanding potential' and then says that its HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed 'can't be better' then you have a flawless Dratini.

IVs are a value of 0 to 31. Any Pokémon has 6 of them, one for each stat. At lvl 100, every stat will have increased by the number of points equal to the value of the IV of that stat. So, if I have a Meganium with 10 IVs in speed and 15 IVs in SpAtt, for example, at lvl 100, then its speed would be 10 points higher than normal, and its SpAtt would be 15 points higher than normal.
