Confusing colors in Pokemon X?

Alright, so I've realized this thing with my game. I've gotten two Pokemon with different colors than normal, but the game considers neither of them to be shiny.

I had a Spewpa, whose colors were completely normal, but once it evolved into Vivillion it wasn't pink at all, instead it had this orange color scheme. Then later on I found a Flabebe with a yellow flower, and I caught it thinking that it was a shiny. Then I checked it and it wasn't classified as a shiny.

Also, in Pokemon Amie, does anyone know how to do the facial expressions thing? There's this smiling icon that keeps appearing at the bottom left corner of my screen, but it disappears every time I tap on it.

You just so happened on two Pokémon that have different designs. Vivillon has quite a few different wing pattern depending on its region (I think the region it evolves in), and Flabébé can be attached to one of three different flowers to my knowledge.

Vivillon's color depends on where you live. Flabebe hold flowers of different colors depending on where you find it.

Flabébé's flower color changes depending on where you catch it in the game. The color of Villion's wings depends on your geographical location. So it's more like the Shellos formes than being shiny. I dunno about the smiling icon though.

There's nothing wrong with your game. It's just color formes, essentially.

Vivillion's wing pattern is based on regional locations of your 3DS. Some places get certain patterns than others. And Flabebe's flower changes accordingly to the flower patches it is located in. You can get yellow ones in yellow flowers, or sometimes white ones, and red or orange ones in red flower fields. And so on.

Vivillon's wing pattern is different depending on what region you live in. The pink one is in Japan and Germany. Flabebe's flower comes in a variety of colors; red, blue, yellow, orange, and white.

Flabebe can have several different colored flowers (I know there's red, blue, and yellow, but I'm not sure if there's any others). Not really sure on Vivillon, but I'm pretty sure it has different colored forms as well. I think Viola has a green one. If either of them were shiny, you'd know.

Vivillon's wings vary depending on its OT's region. As for Flabébé, the flower varies depending on the color of flowers where it was encountered. So a yellow flower field will yield Yellow Flower Flabébé, and so on.

Edit: As for the Pokémon Amie question, I believe you should just make the prompted expression and make sure the 3DS's inner camera sees it.
