Gah flipping Bulbagraden had to be down at the perfect time last night and I had to to go to bed early so I'm posting this now.
Ok here we go.
Day 43 - A Pokémon you hate trying to catch
Mespirit definitely. Mespirit has to be the hardest Pokémon I had to catch. As I said before, I bought a used copy of Pokemon Diamond back in December to replace the one I lost while one vacation in Atlanta. The last owner of the game was pretty far so I figured to catch some more Pokemon before restarting this included the Three Lake Guardians (Azelf, Mespirit, and Uxie). Then I would transfer these Pokemon to my White. I easily caught Uxie and Azelf , but when I got to Lake Verity to catch Mespirt, then I got trouble. Since I didn’t make it that far in my original Diamond, there was one thing I didn’t know. That is unlike Azelf and Uxie, Mespirit doesn’t stay in one place. Instead, it leaves Lake Verity and then roams Sinnoh. I had to spend countless amount of hour tracking it down. I spent most the day looking for the thing in the wild grass. I used to the Poketch’s tracker app to find it’s location. I was lucky to have that. It allowed me to know where it was going. But here’s what the problems with it. First, whenever I’d finally run into it and attempt to catch it, my ball failed and it would run away. Second , whenever I’d step even one foot into the route it was located, it would freaking move to another spot. So then I’d have to walk to wherever it moved to. But as soon as I got there, it teleport back to it’s previous location. It constantly would do that. Hop from one place to another, making me walking around all of Sinnoh just to find it. It loved to play hide and seek. I finally decided to be smart. I taught my Umbreon from HeartGold Taunt and Mean Look and traded it to my Diamond. I made it the first Pokemon in my party. After searching around again for it, I finally found it. I first used Mean Look to prevent it from escaping, then Taunt so it couldn’t only use Attack moves. I had brought it down to at least 5 to 10 HP. I had bought 50 Ultra Balls, but even then it wouldn’t go in. So I shut off the game and tried again. This time I bought 100 Ultra Balls, wasting a majority of my Poke money. I got down to 50 Ultra balls, still didn’t catch it. It was being a prick and kept on escaping. At this point I was screaming at the top of my lungs furious. I was about the slam the DS against the floor. Finally after wasting 75 Ultra Balls, I finally caught the effing thing. Although I only had to deal with catching it once, this experience will probably make me hate catching Mespirit in the future.
Ok we got this done now. I need to get dressed and shower. I'm gonna go to have lunch with a friend later.
