  1. Progressive Dinner

Tonight I tried doing a Progressive Dinner with a club I'm a part of for the first time. We went to a bunch of different apartments to eat different meals, for example, we had soup at salad at one apartment, and the main course at another, etc. It was pretty fun talking to everybody, and the food was very good too. The soup served at my friend's apartment was incredible, though it was more like a heavy broth with bacon, beef, and potatoes. Other highlights of the night included a riveting, expletive-filled ...

  2. Heading home

Well, today I'll be heading home for Thanksgiving break, which is a week long. My German uncle will be visiting for the first time in years, so I'm excited to see him, and my brother finally got a job at a restaurant, so we'll probably be eating there at some point. Other than that it looks like it'll be a normal Thanksgiving, with both awesome and spoiled cousins, and my arrogant uncle showing off whatever shiny new material possession he's just purchased (I'm sure he'll have one, he always does). ...

  3. Strengths of Personality

Over the weekend, I was at a fall retreat for a club I'm a part of here at school. Part of the retreat included taking an online test called "StrengthsQuest." This was a test intended to identify the top 5 strengths of my personality, and the point of the retreat was figuring out how each member could use our strengths towards helping the club.

There are 36 total strengths, and 4 type areas (each comprised of 9 strengths). These areas are: Excecution and Performance, Influence, ...

  4. Winter is closing in fast

And it's making it nearly impossible for me to identify trees! Instead of examining the leaves and flowers, I'm now having to chew on twigs and dig into the bark to figure out what sort of trees my professor is asking us to identify. For example, today I guessed American Beech when the tree was actually a Sweet Birch. The only way to tell them apart now is that the Sweet Birch has a "slight wintergreen smell," which I did not actually experience when I smelled the sapwood, giving me -6 ...

  5. Time to test the wi-fi

Welp, I'm heading home for the weekend in about an hour, and I'm anxious to see if the wi-fi works. Hopefully I'll be able to come online and goof around as usual, as well as potentially make some online trades for the first time ever. If I'm AWOL for the next few days, you'll know what the result of this test is :P I just hope I won't have to take any extended leaves of absence over breaks anymore. See you all soon.
