"This is the first part, I'll post the second part reviewing the rest of them later. Hopefully tomorrow. "
So yeah, here's the second part.
I kinda like Clauncher. I love Kingler and all, but I'm happy that we're getting a crab-like Pokemon that's not red for once. Unless I'm forgetting something, I only remember Crustle, Kingler, and Crawdaunt right now. The cyan color with the black bands looks nice, and its scowl expression combined with the claws makes it looks fairly threatening. I can't help but think it's a pre evo. We'll just have to wait and see~
I like Clauncher more than Skrelp, personally. While I don't think it looks bad, I don't think it looks good either. The brown and purple skin, the bloodshot looking eyes combined with the somewhat depressed looking face makes me not like it very much. I don't dislike it, I just think it's a bit ugly. If it gets an evo, I'd likely like it a lot more.
I know lions are a popular animal, but like with foxes and...most other popular mammals, I'm not crazy about them. Given that Litleo looks like little more than an abnormally happy lion cub, I'm pretty indifferent towards it as well. I don't have much to say about it. Obviously it's a pre evolution of some sort, and there's a small chance I'll appreciate its evolution a lot more.
With a doubt the most "fairyish" fairy revealed so far. While I don't love Flabebe, I certainly like it. It's a rather adorable fairy that might be the combination of a forest fairy and an angel. I think it should be Fairy/Grass, as even if the flower isn't actually part of its body, it's still there. It's not really a big deal, though. It's worth pointing out that Flabebe is tied for the smallest Pokemon and the lightest Pokemon, making it the tiniest Pokemon in existence. I'm looking forward to seeing its evolution, if it has one.
HONEDGE <3. Probably my favorite Generation VI Pokemon so far. It's not that its design is creative (it's not horribly uncreative, either) it's the fact that it's a fucking ghost sword. The "cloth arm" helps to make it a little different than a normal sword, along with the sheath, which looks awesome. Steel/Ghost is without a doubt one of the best typings in the game, too.
...for some reason, I think of Woodstock whenever I see this thing. Heh. Anyways, it's a well designed Pokemon, and it might be one of the cutest bird Pokemon so far. It's fluffy, round, and pink. I like how they blended its "beak" in with its face, as well as the fact that it has a neutral expression. But why is is not Fairy/Flying? Sure, I get that they wanna introduce a lot of pure fairy types since they can't retype old Pokemon to be pure fairy, but the thing is...the same goes with Fairy/Flying since all Flying types aside from Tornadus are dual types. Ugh. Come on Game Freak. Not even Levitate. Hopefully its evolution, if it has one, is part flying.
omg I love this thing. It's pretty cute, but I mostly love it because it's a squid. It and its evolution are the Pokemon I have waited ~12 years for (forget when I started exactly), Omastar only counts for so much since it isn't a true squid. Moving on from the fact that it's my favorite animal, the blue body with the pink top looks cool, especially with the glowing spheres in the pink area. I don't see Dark-type in this thing, but I do in its evolution, so it's fine.
Malamar is another one of my favorite Gen VI Pokemon, alongside Honedge and Vivillon. It's an evil looking giant squid with psychic powers, how cool is that? In all honesty the design could be better, but I'm not going to complain, it's a fucking giant squid. I will point out said flaws, though, even though I'm choosing to overlook them...I think it would have been better if they had a squid that wasn't upsidedown, but I think what they did looks decent. Aside from those damn legs. Ugh, those "legs" look so weird, I wish they could have just made it levitate all the time. Aside from that, it's a good design I think. It reminds me a lot of Medusa.
I've always been a big fan of Vanilluxe, so naturally I quite like this new food Pokemon. I find it quite funny. It's a rather simple design - it's just a ball of cotton candy with a goofy face and feet. While I do like Swirlix, I kinda hope it gets a slightly more creative evolution.
While I wish we had more than just this one screenshot, we still get a pretty good view of the Pokemon. Personally, this is another one of my 6th Gen favorites. It's some sort of cyclops tree with spider legs. Personally, I think that's a pretty awesome concept. Exeggutor, Shiftry, and Snover/Abamasnow are sorta like trees, but I'm happy that we're finally getting something that's more "treeish" than those are. I wonder if Orotto will be Grass/Dark or Grass/Ghost? I hope it's the latter, because not only do we have two Grass/Dark types already, but the concept of a haunted tree sounds cooler than a tree that is merely evil.
Yet another electric rodent. It looks more similar to the Pikachu line than any of the others; particularly, it really resembles Raichu. Although design wise it looks very similar to the other electric rodents, I like it more than the other ones simply because I like hamsters more than other rodents. It has whiskers that resemble a TV antenna, as well as a tail that resembles and acts like a general plug, which, while not amazingly cool, at least makes it a little more than just a yellow/orange rodent given electric powers, which is basically what the others are.
Eh. Personally I never cared about the early normal types aside from Ratatta (only because of Joey), Furret, and Bibarel, and even then I'm not a huge fan of those. It seems that Bunnelby won't be any different, its design is pretty mehish to me. It does have some derp factor thanks to the buck teeth and eyes, at least, thought it will never live up to the sheer derpiness of Bidoof and Bibarel. It has shovel like ears, which I guess is sorta cool? Beats me.
Now onto the Mega Pokemon. I'll be linking straight to the image for these.
Eh. I never cared for normal Lucario, but its design wasn't bad, I guess. Personally I think that MegaLucario has too much going on, it's like they took normal Lucario's relatively simple design and threw on a bunch of weird looking stripes and more hair. Eh, I guess I can see how somebody else could like it, but I'm not really a fan.
I think MegaAbsol is pretty cool. It's like Absol, but with a more emo hairstyle and angel wings. The angel wings in particular look cool. The dark-typing, hairstyle, and angel wings together remind me of an anime character I like a lot, so I'm almost tempted to use one in reference to him.
I liked normal Mawile, but MegaMawile took what I liked about normal Mawile and made it way more awesome. It has two super intimidating heads, a recolor that makes it look like it's wearing a pink dress, while still maintaining the cuteness Mawile had. They basically took normal Mawile and made it prettier and way more badass. Awesome. I love this thing.
Looks cooler than normal Blaziken, imo. The black markings look cooler than Blaziken's yellow markings, and forming Blaziken's long hair into an X looks neat. Not in love with it, but it's nice.
I admit that it's a funny looking Mega form. It's basically just Ampharos with long white hair and a long white tail, while still humorously maintaining the small amount of derpiness normal Ampharos had. While it's somewhat awkward looking, I do like it, as even if it looks awkward on the somewhat derpy Ampharos, the hair itself is still cool, especially with those orbs thrown in. Said awkwardness is funny as well. I don't get how it's part dragon, but ah well. Like the hair, dragon-typing may not make sense on it, but it's still awesome.
It's like Mewtwo, only not ugly! I was never really a fan of the original Mewtwo due to it being ugly (imo), but MegaMewtwo actually looks kinda cute, while still maintaining roughly the same level of badass normal Mewtwo had. I also might prefer the purple thing being "hair" instead of a "tail", but I dunno.
It is literally just normal Kangaskhan with the baby outside of the pouch. Not much to talk about. I liked the original Kangaskhan, so I like this thing by default. Yeah.
Finally done with all of them! I probably could have commented on more non-design things than I did, but whatever.
