Christain mom freaks out about his son playing pokemon. wow.

Ok, this is my first post and blog in some time, but i just got to get this out. i was skimming Memebase because i was Effing bored from playing my new Xbox 360 and i came across this: http://pokememes.memebase.com/2012/07/20/pokmon-and-you-thought/ it details a Christain mom who thinks her son is being pulled away from "God" because he plays pokemon, a game which she thinks was "Made by Satan" because it has Cockfighting and Evolution, two "Forbidden" topics for Christians. she even calls her sister dim becuase she let her sons play it, tells her own son no when he asks for a game, sends him to his room, and for gods sake tells him he will go to hell if he plays those game, also, forbidding him for talking to his friends who play the games, all because of a batshit insane fear of her son becoming a Satanist. yea. i can find so many things wrong with this, that it could fill a dump truck. first, as most of you know, pokemon dont get hurt from battling, in fact, they get an endorphin high from it, and battling is just a safer simulation of real life battles over food or terrortory, real battles that would injure or kill without trainers aiding wounds. on the topic of evolution, i dont want to start a flame war, but really, how the hell do you explain us not being around during the dinosaur ages, and two, evolution in the pokemon games isnt even representitive of real life, it is just what the american translators thought would be best to discribe the japanese meaning. the third is teh fact that when pokemon was making it into the US, Nintendo of america had strict rules on anything religous and anything that would offened religous peoples, of any type. if pokemon could make the cut than there was nothing wrong. and really, lets be honest, anyone who plays the games or hangs aroung bulbapedia knows that the series has many bases on many religons, such as Spiritomb being based off the 108 temptations of buddhism, this kind of referancing also spreads to christiananity as well. finaly, i really think this goes to show how christians, or any kind of religious people can be very overreactive, its just a game, a game made in a reigon of the world that is not christian for one, and has no ties to it or satanism. also, im very certian that the bible has nothing against video games, i mean come one people. its like the obama controversy all over again.
If you couldnt tell, i am athiest, i am this not because of this type of thing, but because i have studied many things about religion, especialy the bible, and i find that it contradicts itself all the time, it makes me feel as if the bible was just some preists fairy tale that he made to explain things that they could not at the time because of the absence of science, and common sense for that matter. really i dont care if people worship one thing or another, its just when they shove it in your face like an original charizard card is when it pisses me off.
Hopefully this woman learns her lesson, and stops being a huge drama queen, over a billion dollar RPG franchise to which this entire forum exsist to talk about.
