So now that we know the Ruby and Sapphire "Remakes" are coming out this year...

Rate this Entry
How would you guys feel about Z/X2&Y2 coming out in 2015? With the 7th Generation games eventually coming out in 2016. So...

2013 - Pokémon X & Pokémon Y.
2014 - Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
2015 - Pokémon Z/ Pokémon X2 & Pokémon Y2.
2016 - 7th Generation games are announced and released in the same year.

Would you guys be upset with the 7th Generation starting up so soon, three years after X & Y? Would you want the games to be released later on in 2017 or 2018 so that they can make some side games such as Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, PokéPark, etc?

    I'd rather 2017 or 2018, personally.

I'd like to wait for new side games, then when all is done, move on to GEN VII. But they better not screw up PMD.
But then again, if you think about it, GEN V started when, 2010-2011? So that's about a 3 year difference. Not too different compared to this scenario (though GEN V only made two sets of core games instead of three due to the lack of a Remake).

Whenever they are ready. I can wait, but if they want to do it earlier, then so be it. I'm sure they know what they're doing.

The more games the merrier for me~ Particularly if I can have them sooner rather than later~

Though, I'm really missing Mystery Dungeon and Ranger and would welcome new titles for those at any time~

Yeah, 2017/2018. It'd give me the extra time to raise all the pokemon I want to raise before giving me a bunch of new ones to raise.

I am not sure why 2018 is even an option. No generation was that long and I really don't see why this one would be the longest.

If they released a Kalos game next year and Generation VII in 2016, that would make for a streak of five consecutive releases since B2W2. I wouldn't mind it at all (on the contrary) if the quality didn't suffer as a result, which depends on how big the Game Freak staff has become after the expansions. I could see why they would need to take their time until 2017, but they shouldn't wait until the end of that year in my opinion.

It's not a matter of not wanting new games so soon as much as it is that it's a lot of work to constantly release new games every year, especially with the switch to 3D. TBH, I'm very surprised that ORAS are being released this year since they normally take a break after the initial paired versions are released. I think 2017/2018 is a more realistic estimate.

Preferably, I'd rather they squeeze as much potential from a Gen as possible before moving onto greater horizons. So 2017 sounds reasonable.

I'm also happy the remakes are coming before the inevitable final title in the Kalos saga. A remake should be an escort title no matter the circumstances. Here's hoping Kalos gets the attention it deserves when that time comes.
