@Professor Erin; and I will be arguing over which one of us is more popular.

Opening statement: Erin is more popular, as she has been here longer and has a stunning amount of VMs.

Pfttt. :1 You have more posts, you say hi to everyone, and post everywhere. So this is absolutely silly cause I'm right. -3-

Posts aren't everything. More VMs implies friendliness, which typically equals popularity.

But my VMs are with the same usual people with whom I talk to daily. You have a variety of groups in which you speak to people no? So this means you know more people than me. Face it Pyra. xD
  4. Pyradox's Avatar
Hardly. There are really only two people that I talk to on a daily basis. And I can't possibly know more users than you, we have the same amount of friends.

Some of the users on the list are ppl I traded with & rarely speak to! DX

But fine what about fanclubs? Yours has more members. That means something for sure! :P
  6. Pyradox's Avatar
Yours is considerably more active, and that means a lot more.
  7. Dolce's Avatar
Active? Nah. xD And Pyra pls, yours has more threads!

Also one more thing about posts, besides showing your more active than I am, it means your name is more well recognized! Even if your always in ninja mode. :P
  8. Pyradox's Avatar
None of them had many posts.

And more well recognized does not equal liked.
  9. Dolce's Avatar
And what's to say you aren't well liked? :1
  10. Pyradox's Avatar
    Well, I'm not popular.

Don't destroy the table, it did nothing to you!

    But Pyra.....it did everything!

The. Table. Did. Not. Hurt. You.

    But.....it did!

You both raise compelling points, but if I may intervene as the median here, I would like to say a few things.

First of all, there is the matter of friend lists. We can just chuck these out the window, because just look at mine. It's filled with people who sent me requests for no reason I can gather. Therefore, I shall simply disregard the issue of friend lists.

The second issue I'll be examining today is the matter of post counts. Post counts are typically a very rough and vague indicator of one's popularity. Most of the time, though, it is simply a reflection of how much free time the user in question has. It appears that Pyradox has far more free time than Professor Erin, which can be taken as either a good thing or a bad thing. Thus, I shall be moving on and leaving it at that.

The third issue I wish to address is one that neither side has brought up: blog comments. Allow me to explain.

When a user blogs, people who regard that user with respect or platonic sentiments feel the need to comment on it. This has no relation to the user's amount of blog entries, so sit down, Pyra. However, looking through these blogs, it is bitingly plain to see that Pyradox has more blog comments, on average, than Professor Erin. This is even factoring out the recent trend of myself posting a comment on every single blog entry she makes, which began about a month or two ago and is not likely to stop any time soon.

So, in closing, I proclaim Pyradox to be the more popular user.

But I have one last point to make. I happen to be madly obsessed with Pyradox, which no doubt, as you can plainly see, makes for intense emotional investment in this case that is the cause of my bias toward Pyra. As such, I shall be throwing out my entire argument and letting the two candidates proceed as usual.
