This may seem a bit wierd, but when I originally joined these forums (which wasn't a very long time ago :P), I didn't actually own any Pokemon games. My mom took away my GameBoy Color after I overreacted and threw a tantrum because my Sudowoodo accidentally fainted Ho-oh, and neither of us ever saw it again.
However, I was planning on going out and buying a GameBoy Color and Pokemon Silver all over again over the past few months. I found this really great used-game/console exchange dealer called R.U. Game? in Tampa. Like I said, I planned on getting a GameBoy Color with Pokemon Silver. They had the GameBoys (they had lots of vintage games and game systems; it was paradise), but they said that English Pokemon games that old were hard to come by. A week later (this morning), I went there again. This time, they were out of both GameBoy Colors AND Pokemon Silver. But they did have a GameBoy Advance SP, as well as three copies of FireRed and one copy of LeafGreen. I then found out for the very first time (you would think I would know this by now) that SPs are compatable with GameBoy Color games.
So, eventually, I could end up with Pokemon Silver, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, AND Generation I remakes. So I figured that was a better deal, and I got it. The grand total was $69.95, more than I hoped for (I was hoping it was free :P). It was a big chunk into my pocket, but I never spend my own money anyway, so might as well. Besides, I could always ask for some other games for Christmas.
So yeah, now I officially have a GameBoy Advance SP with a copy of LeafGreen. Hopefully I'll expand to Generation II and R/S/E in the future. I'm happy now!
[I also fear I'm going to get some backlash that I'm "not qualified" to have my opinions on newer games, but I'm sure you guys are nicer than that. :) ]
