Should I be doing this? I don't know. Let's see.

Okay, first of all, how's that meme-in-progress coming along? I've used it when the opportunity presented itself. I haven't forgotten about it just yet.

Now, look at this video:

Yes, it's the ponies version. If you hate ponies, just press the spoiler button again if you seriously don't want to see Fluttershy (Fluttershy is the best pony, by the way >:D) rapping about mainstream rap. If you are a brony like me, appreciate the first-rate, top-notch lip-synching and the Pinkie Pie beatboxing.

Now, at first glance, "F_ck Sh_t Stack" by Reggie Watts souns like a really bad rap song with incessant swearing. Which it is. But the point is, what's mainstream rap? That's right, mainstream rap is really bad rapping with lots of swearing.

Now, rap can be good. I try to embrace it as one of the only genuinely American music forms out there, and I've come to appreciate rap. But only when it's good. See, rap started to go downhill as soon as NWA released their first album in 1988. It's been all downhill from there. And that is the type of crap that "F_ck Sh_t Stack" parodies so well.

Now, obviously, the mind-bogglingly obscene swearing in the song parodies the mind-bogglingly obscene swearing in mainstream rap. This song casually tosses around the second and third worst words in the English language ("f***" being second only to "c*nt") as if they were nothing. And so does mainstream rap. They could yell:

"Hey, dude!"

But instead they shout:

"Hey, n****!"

The biggest rule of parody is to take something recognizable about the subject of parody, and then exaggerating it. So, "F_ck Sh_t Stack" takes swearing, a recognizable signature of mainstream rap, and exaggerates it.

As we all know, mainstream rap is disgustingly chauvinistic and misogynistic. Just the other day (this is a true story), I heard a guy singing along to his iPod. The lyrics were as follows:

"If you let me in, I'mma own that pussy."

... Yeah. You get the basic idea. Now, take this line from "F_ck Sh_t Stack":

I like women
I like women
I like the concept of a woman
I like to take that concept and reduce it to an object

I'll stop right here to emphasize how much I like that line: "I like to take that concept and reduce it to an object". Doesn't that describe the chauvinism of mainstream rap perfectly? Now, on with the verse:

I like to take those objects and put them in my videos
Have them shake their jiggly bits so they looks like hoes
I like to take some car polish, smear it all over their a**es, buff that s*** up so it looks like fresh peaches and s***
I like to take some more of that car polish and smear it all over their t**s and buff that s*** out
So it looks all sparkly like diamond necklaces and s***

And that's essentially what they do in maistream rap, right? They make them shake their jiggly bits so they looks like hoes. And here's the last line of that verse:

'Cause I'm a lady's man
A lady's man
A l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-lady's man

This demonstrates how these mainstream rappers think it's so cool when they make their women shake the aforementioned jiggly bits so they looks like hoes.

Now, the next verse:

I'm a materialist
I'm a materialist
I take a piece of s*** car and lower the mothaf***a
Put some 18" rims on the mothaf***a
Take some neon and put it underneath the mothaf***a
So when I roll around this town it looks like I hover (hover, hover, hover...)

This is a perfect parody of mainstream rappers' materialism. For proof, listen to "Black & Yellow" by Wiz Khalifa (or better yet, don't), among many other monstrosities.

Next, the main part of the song, the chorus:

Take some f*** and some s***
And some f*** and some s***
You got a f*** s*** stack
A f*** s*** stack
It's a stack of f*** s***
On top of itself, n****

What does this mean?

Soldier boy up this (ho)
Watch me crank it
Watch me roll
Watch me crank that soldier boy
That Superman, that (oh!)

What does THAT mean?

Do da stanky leg ('ey!)
Do da stanky leg ('ey!)
Do da stanky leg ('ey!)
Do da stanky leg ('ey!)

What does THAT mean?

So, as you can see, "F_ck Sh_t Stack" is more than some stupid rap song with lots of swearing. It's a really funny, really clever, stupid rap song with lots of swearing. Now, listen to the song again, with this context in mind.

I don't know about you, but I think it's funny.
