What an absolute gargantuan waste of time.
Just catch the thing already, it looks practically the same when shiny.

I got a shiny Registeel in three soft-resets. Sadly, it will never be any good for battling.

Shiny Pokemon look cool, and is a treasure.

It took me about three days for my first and so far only successful SR'd Shiny; Lapras. Started it the Friday before my 20th birthday. Got the Shiny Lapras ON my 20th birthday!

But if you get it Shiny, you have the personal satisfaction that comes with successfully getting a Shiny. With a normal Articuno, you just get the feeling of satisfaction that comes from catching a legendary. And I speak from experience when I say that the first one feels a hell of a lot better than the second one.

I've seen what shiny Articunos look like. I think they're cool. But I'm just about ready to give up on it and catch the thing already (I've practised catching it occasionally, but it won't freaking stay in the ball!).

it really depends. One shiny (Cyndaquil) I got in just over 400 which is pretty soon, while others took thousands of resets and months of hunting. If you really want the shiny, stick with it, you never know when it'll appear. It just depends when the game decides to make it shiny.

I SR'd for a shiny Drifloon. After 21 minutes, I got bored and went into the grass. I found a shiny Buizel.

I've never had success SRing. Seriously. I've also never had any luck with the Masuda Method. It must be my TID, eh?

That's why RNGing is awesome. You can RNG that Articuno shiny, instead of SRing. You're still going to have to work for it, though, as RNGing is not an easy way out. It's just easier.

Don't bother doing it.

Buy an Action Replay.

Seriously, when on the GTS it is nearly impossible to see wether one is shiny or not.

Waste of time, and unless you want it in a Masterball, the thing is more likely to take itself out with struggle.
