Super Mario Land

Rate this Entry
A while ago, I bought Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins on my 3DS from Virtual Console.

These games are fun.

In SML, I am in World 3-1.

In SML2, I have 4 Golden Coins, I believe.

The music is very interesting, as a fact. SML's World 1 and 3 music is just too good, and World 4 sounds chinese and japanese. By the way, did anyone know that the composer of the game is also the current president of Creatures Inc.? SML2's music was not composed by Hirokazu Tanaka, but it sounded very awesome.

I completed Tree Zone, Macro Zone, Pumpkin Zone, and Mario Zone so far. I have to do Turtle Zone and Star Zone.

In SML? Duh, Worlds 1 and 2.

Everything in those games are interesting. No faults.

And that was my little review/

Let us not forget that Daisy and Wario debuted in these two games respectively.

Super Mario Land is probably the strangest "main" Mario game ever made. Shigeru Miyamato had nothing to do with these games which is why they're so bizarre compared to the other main Mario games

Correct. They are so good, even though Miyamoto had nothing to do with these games, as what you said. SML had Mario - but that was it. There were variations of Goombas and Koopas, and then we got seperate enemies. That was it. SML2 had other enemies too. But Goombas and Koopas look simliar to the ones from SMB3 in SML2.

I liked Super Mario Land when I replayed it recently. I really liked the shooter levels, oddly enough. I also liked the idea of the Koopa Troopa-like enemies leaving bombs behind after you stomped on them. I wonder why no other Mario game has used that?

Super Mario Land 2 kind of disappointed me, though. Because you can go anywhere you want any time you want, the developers were basically trapped into making every level as easy as the one before it. Which in turn makes the entire game really, really easy. And then, when you get to Wario's castle - BAM! - the difficulty level shoots way up. It makes for a very odd experience.

Is Super Mario Land 3 not available on the American 3DS store yet?

No, not yet. Wario Land is on the Japanese 3DS store, but not on the American 3DS store. Expecting it though, soon.
