In Platinum, I've been training up my Prinplup to be Lv36.

Is it bad to have a Empoleon face off against Gardenia?

You are free to play the game as you wish.

^ This. That said, an Empoleon fighting Gardenia is pretty dang overpowered, as many people would say.

You must have had fun training it that much that early in the game.

@Trainer Gabriel; Meh, by the time I was a Gardenia, Prinplup was at Level 30. Training it from Lv30 to Lv36 in Mt. Coronet was kinda hellish. Took about one hour, worth it for defeating Gardenia and gaining a steel type.

I definitely wouldn't find that fun. But as long as you do, that's all that matters.

I usually have a lv36 Infernape around Maylene's badge, and I usually grind for ageees. I'd say you're overtrained, but oh well, your game.

    Thank you all.

But, yeah for hell! I'm going to train a Gible, then a Togepi, then a Riolu...up to the highest team member's level. HELL MUCH
