I can't think of a clever title.

The apartment next to my dad's was on fire. I have no idea if we lost everything, or a few things from it. My sister and I were home alone when this happened. She's only 11, and we don't have much of a bond. I could see fear in her eyes as well as the people in the complex. Fire trucks were everywhere, and I couldn't stop thinking about my personal belongings as I went into the laundromat. My laptop, headphones, and cell phone were the things I grabbed. My sister was in a panic, and I tried to calm her down for most of the event. Neighbors checked on the two of us often, and I realized quickly that we can all relate to this fateful day.
As for the origin of the fire, apparently, it was from the neighbor's chimney. I would be very upset if I lost my Pokemon plushes, my Hetalia plushes, and my school stuff, but our survival is really what matters most, and the fact that we all survived through this will only make us stronger as individuals.
Ironically, my mom is in Jamaica right now and is probably having a blast, while the rest of my family is in an ocean of uncertainty and fear of what is to come next. Unlike the rest of my family, I am thinking more about how the neighbors are going to cope with this because I'm pretty confident my family's belongings are okay. I shouldn't keep my hopes up, though, as it would make things more painful if they didn't turn out the way we all wanted it to.
Anyway, yeah. This is why I wasn't playing mafia for a while.
(Also: Zima smells like smoke right now.)
