The Great Mouse Detective.

I only vaguely remember watching this as a kid, and I loved to watch it a lot of times (I really loved this movie for some reason). Years later, I forgot why I liked it so much, but watching it now again, I can see how this was a well-made movie.

Story: 4/5. I don't know much about the source book (Basil of Baker Street or whatever), but for a child-version Sherlock Holmes, this had a very interesting story.

Characters: 5/5. Basil and Ratigan represented their counterparts (Holmes and Moriarty) very well. Loved the voice actors - they did a splendid job.

Animation: 4/5. The animation wasn't special - just another Disney classic animation for the most part. However, the final battle at Big Ben was obviously the best scene ever. Computer graphics of course, but for an animation in the 80s to show such detailed gears - and the dynamic camera angles... o.o

Overall: I'm giving it a 4.5/5. Yes, it is an old classic, and maybe nothing really strikes out from it (since it was heavily overshadowed by the Disney Renaissance after its release). However, like someone said somewhere else, this movie is so underrated - the characters, the story, the animation (especially the Big Ben battle scene) are all very captivating, and I'd love to recommend people to give it a try if they haven't seen it :D[/QUOTE]

Boy, it's been a long time since I've even heard that movie's title, let alone watch it. But it was a very, very good movie. I'm generally not a Sherlock Homes fan (or mystery story fan, for that matter), but it felt different than other such tales, so I liked it a lot. Fidget the bat always made me laugh. But it was one of the better done Disney movies back in the day, so I agree with your reviews.
