Yeah.

So basically, look - it's been out for 15 years. It's been one of the world's best-selling games - second only to Super Mario.

The huge franchise, all those business related to pokemon...



Would that had worked if pokemon was plainly targeted at babies? Yes, I'm talking to you, Mom.

To keep a popularity that strong, the "baby" consumers aren't enough to keep the sales going. It doesn't take a genius to realize what makes a world phenomenon a "world phenomenon". Teenagers, adults - they buy the games. They play them. They post spoilers, blog about their play-through, give reviews on it, and they spread word on how good the games are or how much it needs improvement. Your usual "baby" consumers aren't enough to keep the franchise popular for over 15 years, ya know?


Sigh, what a rant. And she won't even try to listen. She just tells me to stop being such a pokemon otaku freak playing games that's for "babies" and shut up and grow out of the games. Yeah, totally. I'll grow out of it if that's what can make you stop insulting me with such words :P And you want me to act my age? One insult rant on pokemon being for "babies", and I'm putting up extreme mature posters of guys all over my room. Let's see what you'll say about that - trust me, you won't like it :P

    I just so happened to watch this yesterday. I think you might want to present this, along with the plethora of videos by other poketubers. As evidence that Pokemon is for Everybody (A demographic which just so happens to include kids). For Arceus's sake there are people who make their living Making videos about pokemon on Youtube. Last I checked a Livelyhood isn't exactly something "babies" are worried about.

    Hey dont feel bad!

    TPC actually considered the idea of Pokemon diapers and gerbil cadges a few years back but Nintendo shot the ideas down in the water.(maybe consider that when you make a thread about Pokemon being targeted towards babies)

    I went to releases for Black & White, and B2 & W2, there were no kids waiting anxiously in line with their parents. It was all young adults. There will always be someone telling you to grow up, it may be your parents one day, and years later it will be colleagues, the true measure of your character will be in overcoming this idiotic labeling and simply enjoy the life you want to live.
