One Mega Stone makes the difference

I have little to no experience in competitive battling, but with super training available, I found it interesting and decided to give it a try. I tried battling people online (and lost 99% of the time), and used Super Training to re-polish my Gallade I transferred over from Black2. Even though he has the wrong nature and poor IVs, with Super Training and Justified, he's gotten much better than before.

Still, there was no way to overcome those powerful mega evolutions. Once, I was almost winning, and then the opponent's Mega Garchomp swept through the rest of my team (personally, that dragon needs more nerfing).

I did get the Mega Ring, but I didn't want to raise Lucario or the Torchic because I felt my Gallade was a better Fighting type than both (or maybe I am simply too attached to him to replace him for another pokemon). As for the Kanto starters... I don't really like them. I wanted to use my Black2 team for online battles, and there was only one pokemon that could mega evolve - Aggron.

I do have Pokemon Y, but unfortunately, I only have five badges at the moment. So I asked @Mintaka; if she could lend me her Aggronite. After promising to return her Mega Stone once I found mine in the post-game, I borrowed hers through trade and tested it online.

And like I said in the title - one mega stone indeed makes the difference. Ever since I acquired Mega Aggron, I started gaining some more wins against people online. The whole mega evolution still feels new to me, yet Mega Aggron really outdid herself. Her defenses made her so pro that she survived multiple earthquakes that would have normally KO'd her in her usual form (that Filter ability lol). Her EV distribution is horrible (I seriously need to re-polish her some time later), but she's still standing strong. Just like Gallade, she's got the wrong nature and poor IVs, but I'm proud of her new achievements <3

    Glad you were able to find something that works. :3 I have yet to try most of the Megas (coincidentally, I would like to try both Garchomp and Aggron, the former being one of my favorite Pokémon), but Mega Aggron seems really good. xD

    Honestly though, I get the feeling Mega Garchomp isn't as broken as ... say, Mega Kangaskhan. :x Not trying to start an argument, just stating my opinion ^^;

    Mega Aggron is pretty good. I was surprised to learn that it loses its Rock-typing, but then it also loses 4x weaknesses to Fighting and Ground, so more durable than her usual form :D

    Ah, I agree that Mega Kangaskhan seems broken. I met more Garchomps online than Kangaskhans, but the ones that I did get to battle were much too strong O.o I swear I once met one that survived a Close Combat from my Gallade ;_; It also OHKO'd most of my pokemon - I don't know how they distributed its stats... but the Mommy&Baby team just seems too good.

    Mega Evos can certainly be game-changing. My Mega Charizard X, good ol' Bahyoldrog, has been destroying everything in Battle Spot. XD

    @Dark Chocolate; Mega Kangaskhan is only powerful because of its ability Parental Bond wich is pretty broken, if it didn't had Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan would be a rather mediocre mega.

    @Norzan;
    That's the case for a lot of them. Nearly none of the Mega Evolutions gained an attack boost massive enough to overshadow their non-Mega evolved forms holding items. Charizard X and Y, Gengar, Pinsir, Blastoise, Mawile, Lucario....all those wouldn't be that great without their abilities.

    An easy solution to taking down a Mega Evolved Dragon-type like Mega Gaburias is putting an Ice Beam on a speedy Pokemon like Gekkouga/Greninja (if it lacks in Speed, put a Focus Sash on it, note that it's a post-game Battle Maison item). But I know what you mean, certain Pokemon Mega Evos can be such a nuisance to deal with depending on your team. I really hate Mega Garura and its Parental Bond ability. I stopped using (Mega) Bashaamo against my friends because I found it to be cheap as hell. Man, it's the first time I've used it since Generation III. That Protect+Speed Boost really is something.

    Haha, I know what you mean about the difference EV Training does. I got my first taste of that after bothering to pay attention to them in Generation V, and with Super Training and Hordes there's really no reason not to do it anymore because it's so streamlined. Once you get EVs down and know how to utilize your mon's abilities, Pokemon battling basically becomes a "my phallus is bigger than yours" contest with Natures and IVs when it comes to outclassing similar teams (even then, now it's easier to breed Pokemon with the perfect IVs you want with Friend Safari, Destiny Knot, and whatever). lmao
