    So, this week, I'm implementing an idea of mine that I thought was a rather good idea, but didn't have the guts to do until now. From now on, every friday I'm doing a post I call Beast V. Beast. Basically, you all vote for a monster from video games, mythology, TV, whatever, that are pitted against another in a battle in which one will win.     Fair warning, readers of The Long Walk, if you haven’t read Chapter Eleven then spoilers alert. It’s quite rare, when editing The Long Walk, that I cut long passages of text completely. My planning style tends to iron out the really big problems before I put finger to keyboard – editing for me is a matter of fiddling with the language and the smaller matters of pacing. If I ever get rid of more than a sentence it tends not to be much more than maybe about fifty words or so.

  5. Faith in humanity decreasing

    Recently at my school there was a Halloween party and the staff asked for the students to bring some food to donate to charity.

    Then sometime after the party someone from the staff came to my classroom and showed that someone apparently gave some powder chocolate milk as a donation.... Only that it was a quarter full.

    ... Really now?
