Something I don't get regarding the current Pokemon games. Why is it that they never use the protagonists' Vs. mugshots facing against the Vs. mugshots of the villain characters. On top of that, why didn't they give Red a Vs. mugshot in HG/SS nor reused Cynthia's Vs. mugshot in the Gen V games? I want to see Hilda/Rosa's serious face against Ghetsis' crazily intimidating expression to balance it off rather a gym leader/Elite 4 member/champion with a not-so-intimidating facial expressions. It's part of the reason why I want to see a Pokemon and Mario/Mega Man crossover happen, to give the Koopalings/Robot Masters and Bowser/Dr. Wily some sinister/serious/over-the-top expressions in their Vs. mugshots, and I won't have to embarrassingly avoid looking at the protagonists' serious faces in their Vs. mugshots.

    @Karamazov; No they are not. Roxie and Clay's, on the other hand, are.

    @Baron Dante; That is the true definition of a truly intimating/over-the-top facial expression.

    I used to think that his mouth looked derpy because he had a stroke, and it damaged half his face.

    Ok, here's the deal:
    Vs. mugshots = not entirely meant to be serious, because there are notable trainers who know not to take the battle with a neutral expression on their face, at least. (As a matter of fact I think that's what Norman's mugshot would be - a neutral face.)
    Against villain characters, they want you to know the FACE OF FEEEEEEAAAAR! /overthetopannouncervoice
    Seriously, though, the suggestion is that you don't want to just vs. them, you want to tear their team apart!
    Cynthia's mugshot in Generation V isn't used presumably because she's the Sinnoh Region champion and she's not considered a "rival" by any means, nor has been a villainous member (like Colress used to be) or N (who has the Plasma animation without the shield).
    And finally...Red does not have a vs. mugshot because that part of the game deliberately used a battle transition inspired by the original Gold & Silver.
